Horseradish helps to improve human health. Therefore, it must be periodically eaten. And a variety of seasonings will help us in this, one of which is horseradish with tomatoes.

We will need:

  • Tomatoes - one and a half kilograms.
  • Horseradish root - six pieces.
  • Garlic - one large head.
  • Sugar.
  • Salt.

Cooking seasoning

To prepare classic horseradish with tomatoes and garlic, you first need to prepare the ingredients. Need young horseradish roots, yellowed and friable - do not fit. Wash the horseradish well, then it must be poured with cold water and left for five to six hours, this is necessary so that the horseradish becomes less sharp and burning. Then it needs to be cleaned and cut into small parts.

Next, you need to take the tomatoes, just rinse them and divide into quarters. Disassemble the head of garlic into cloves and peel them off. All components for horseradish with tomatoes are prepared and they need to be passed through a meat grinder. Salt the resulting vegetable mixture and add sugar to your liking. Fill seasoning with a recipe of tomato-cooked horseradish with horseradish and garlic in small, clean jars and tighten the lids. Cooked horseradish should be stored in the refrigerator.

Horseradish is usually prepared in the autumn, when you can buy a large assortment of vegetables and fruits. But in order to consume horseradish all year round, it must be prepared for the winter. This seasoning is especially useful in the winter season, when the peak of colds occurs, since horseradish is an excellent antimicrobial agent that prevents the occurrence of colds and increases the human immunity. We will use it to prepare a tomato-based horseradish recipe for the winter.

What products do we need:

  • Tomatoes - three kilograms.
  • Horseradish root - three hundred grams.
  • Garlic - three hundred grams.
  • Oil - one glass.
  • Vinegar - four tablespoons.
  • Sugar - one and a half tablespoons.
  • Salt - one and a half tablespoons.

The first thing to do is rinse the horseradish and fill it with cold water. Leave it in the water for five to six hours. Then horseradish can be cleaned and divided into several parts. Rinse the tomatoes and peel them. In order to make it easy - put the tomatoes in boiling water for a few seconds. Thanks to this procedure, the skin is removed very easily. Cut peeled tomatoes in half.

Peel the garlic. This is easy to do if you press the clove with a wide blade of a knife. After this, the husk is removed very quickly. Peeled and chopped tomatoes through a meat grinder. Salt a little and add sugar. The resulting tomato mixture must be transferred to the pan and put on fire. When the mixture boils, the fire must be reduced and cooked for half an hour. Do not forget to stir occasionally.

While the tomatoes are boiling, you need to also twist horseradish and garlic through a meat grinder. For now put them aside. About ten minutes before the end of cooking the tomato mixture, vinegar must be poured into it and mixed. At the end of cooking, put chopped horseradish and garlic into the pan. And as soon as the mass boils, turn off the fire and immediately put the horseradish for the winter out of the tomato into sterilized small jars and tighten the lids.

Horseradish with carrots is certainly hot and spicy seasoning, but at the same time it is still fragrant and very useful. In addition, if you add it in a small amount to such dishes as jellied meat, lard, boiled potatoes, dumplings and many others, then the taste of these familiar dishes will become more vivid and rich. The combination of horseradish with tomatoes and carrots is not as acute as with other components, so even those who are not a fan of very hot seasonings can use it.

For seasoning you will need:

  • Carrots - two kilograms.
  • Tomatoes - four kilograms.
  • Bell pepper - two kilograms.
  • Horseradish - two hundred grams.
  • Vinegar is one hundred milliliters.
  • Chili pepper - two hundred grams.
  • Garlic - two hundred grams.
  • Sugar - half a cup.
  • Salt - two teaspoons.

Make seasoning

We prepare in sequence all the ingredients for horseradish from tomato and horseradish, with the addition of carrots. Since horseradish needs to be washed and soaked for four to five hours in water, so that excess hotness and pungency come out of it, you need to start with it. While the horseradish is soaking, let's take care of the rest of the vegetables.

Wash the tomatoes, put in boiling water for a minute to easily remove the skin. Clean and peeled tomatoes cut into four parts. Rinse the carrots well, remove the peel from it, use a special knife for this, as this greatly simplifies the process, and cut the vegetable into pieces. Wash sweet bell peppers, cut them in half and remove the seeds, partitions and stalk.

Twist vegetables prepared for horseradish with tomatoes through a meat grinder. Then take a large pot, preferably with a thick bottom, and shift the vegetable mixture into it. Put the pot on the fire, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and cook for about one hour, stirring occasionally.

While the vegetable mixture is cooked, you can do the rest of the ingredients according to the recipe of horseradish from tomato, with the addition of carrots and pepper. Drain the water from horseradish, peel and cut into small pieces. Press the garlic with a wide blade of a knife, after which it is easy to remove the husk from it. Rinse hot chili peppers and cut the stem. They also pass through a meat grinder in a separate bowl.

When the vegetable mixture is boiled for about an hour, chopped horseradish, chili pepper and garlic must be added to it. Boil another fifteen minutes, not forgetting to stir. At the end, pour sugar and salt into a boiling vegetable mass, and pour vinegar, mix all the ingredients together and bring to a boil. Put the hot horseradish made of tomato and horseradish, with the addition of pepper and carrots, into previously washed and sterilized small jars and roll up the lids. The horseradish prepared for the winter will be an excellent addition to the main dishes.

This spicy snack is cooked quickly, and the presence of a large amount of garlic and horseradish allows you to store it fresh for a long period of time, while also preserving vitamins and all useful substances.
