"Brilint" is a drug that has been widely used in cardiology and surgery, since it has antiplatelet and anticoagulant effects. In most cases, it is used to stop angina attacks (unstable form) and ischemic pain, as well as a prophylactic against bleeding immediately before surgery.
Composition and form of release
“Brilinta” 90 mg is produced (analogue also) in tablets. They are covered with a film membrane of a yellowish tint. The shape is round biconvex.
The main active component of the drug is ticagrelor. Among the excipients are:

The film, in turn, consists of hypromellose, talc, titanium dioxide, macrogol, dye (yellow oxide).
The main effect of the drug
"Brilint" has an antiplatelet effect, that is, prevents the aggregation of blood clots. As a result of exposure to the main active component of the drug - ticagrelor - platelets lose their ability to stick together, and therefore form clots.
Numerous studies confirm the fact that Brilint is more effective in combination with salicylic acid. Similar statements about the analogue of Brilint - Plavix. In these tests, patients with cardiovascular diseases of different age groups took part, and their mass and gender were taken into account.
The main goal of therapy using this drug is to reduce the risk of death, which can be caused by improper functioning of the cardiovascular system, in particular, angina pectoris and myocardial infarction.
Indications for use
Reception "Brilinta" is indicated if it is necessary to reduce blood coagulation, including preventing the development of complications of cardiovascular diseases in the form of thrombosis and thromboembolism. That is why this drug is indicated for:
- unstable angina (this pathology is characterized by a deterioration in blood circulation in the heart muscle, which threatens the development of a heart attack);
- myocardial infarction (death of one part of the heart);
- performing surgical operations on the coronary vessels of the heart muscle (with percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass grafting).
In addition to direct indications, at the discretion of a doctor, Brilint can be prescribed to reduce thrombosis in other pathological conditions, for example, with disseminated intravascular coagulation.
Contraindications
There are a number of restrictions under which the use of Brilint is not allowed. These include:
- individual intolerance, including hypersensitivity to the active active substance or to at least one additional coponent;
- active bleeding that is pathological in nature;

The average duration of treatment is 12 months.
In addition, the simultaneous administration of acetylsalicylic acid is recommended.

Analogs
If it is impossible to take the drug, you need to know how to replace the Brilint. Among the main analogues stand out:
- "Zilt." This analogue of Brilint is notable for its price, however, the effect of both drugs is similar and is aimed at preventing thrombosis. The active substance is clopidogrel. Indications for use of the drug are myocardial infarction, coronary syndrome, stroke, atrial fibrillation, occlusive coronary artery disease. Zilt is characterized by rare side effects.
- Plavix. Brilinta or Plavix - which is better? It is definitely impossible to say. These drugs are distinguished by the active substance, but their effect is similar. This allows you to stop the course of therapy with one remedy, continue treatment with another. An analogue of “Brilint” “Plavix” is prescribed to patients who have revealed atherosclerotic phenomena, patients after a stroke and heart attack. This drug is also a cheaper analogue. What to choose: Brilinta or Plaviks. What's better? Only a doctor will say.
- Lopirel. This analogue of "Brilint" is made on the basis of clopidogrel, which is why the action is aimed at platelets, making them unable to stick together. Unlike other substitutes, Lopirel also affects the functionality of the nervous, respiratory, musculoskeletal and hematopoietic organs. In addition, it is worth remembering that the specified analogue of the Brilint drug is not original, but a generic, that is, a copy of Plavix.
In addition to these analogues, the use of other drugs that have a similar effect, but differ in the mechanism of action (Cardiomagnyl, Aspecard, Aspirin-Cardio), is allowed.
