French salad: choose a recipe for yourself

Have you ever tried french salad? You think that it was invented by the French to save their hornet's waist? I don’t know, but it seems to me the reason is different. It’s just that salad ingredients were not available to everyone in Soviet times, so one of the housewives gave this name to this dish.

In fact, there are completely different options for making such a salad: with mushrooms and chicken, diet and high-calorie ones - for every taste.

This salad requires olives stuffed with tuna, mushrooms, bell peppers, boiled egg, sour cream, oregano, mayonnaise. We cut olives stuffed with tuna in half, and sweet pepper slices. Protein boiled eggs finely chopped. The washed mushrooms are cut into small slices and sprinkled with lemon juice. Cooking dressing: mix sour cream, oregano and mayonnaise. Now we put all the components of the salad in one container and mix. Top French salad sprinkled with grated egg yolk.

But the next option definitely came to us from those times when it was impossible to get many of the above products. So the Soviet mistresses came up with various ways to prepare a French beauty salad without mayonnaise. We take potatoes, pieces so three or four, three carrots and beets, half a head of cabbage (white cabbage), a larger onion, half a kilogram of meat. You can take any meat: both beef, and chicken, and pork, someone even manages to use lamb. For pouring, we need soy sauce, salt, five percent vinegar, black and red peppers (ground). In this salad, only two ingredients are cooked - potatoes and meat. The remaining components are fresh to the salad. Fry the chopped meat in a pan. While it is preparing, we clean and shred all the vegetables. We cut each type of vegetable in a separate container. Fry potatoes to a golden hue. We do the dressing like this: carefully mix two tablespoons of vinegar with soy sauce, peppers and salt. And now it's time to put everything together. As you can see, no oil is needed in this salad, because fried potatoes and meat alone will give the dish fat content. After mixing all the ingredients and filling them with dressing, we get a hearty and at the same time not very high-calorie (after all, without mayonnaise) French salad with chicken (or other meat).

And now we offer you to try a vegetarian salad French. To prepare it, you need one hundred grams of dried peas, four hundred grams of potatoes, two hundred grams of beets, salt, sunflower oil, pepper. We cook peas and potatoes separately, bake beets in the oven. We cut boiled potatoes and peeled baked beets into cubes. Mix them with peas. Peppercorn and salt everything, season with oil. If you want to slightly diversify such a salad, you can season with sour cream instead of oil, and sprinkle with grated egg yolk on top.

And there is such an option of light refreshments called “French Salad” with seafood. To cook it, you need literally fifteen minutes, of which only five are for the preparation itself, and fifteen to prepare the products. We give you a recipe for two servings: one avocado, two pods of cherry (yellow and red), fifty grams of shrimp, mussels and squid, thirty grams of leek, ten grams of soy sauce, a tablespoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Before you do avocados, put seafood to cook. We start cooking with avocado. We cut it in half, take out a stone from it, clean and cut into small cubes. While we were doing avocado, shrimps and mussels were cooked in one saucepan, and peeled squids in another. Finished squids are cut into thin strips, cherry - into cubes, and onions into rings. We mix all the ingredients in a salad bowl, season with a mixture of soy sauce, lemon juice and olive oil. If you like spicy dishes, you can lightly season the French salad with white pepper. There is another fill option for such a salad. Beat finely chopped dill and parsley with lemon juice, olive oil and soy sauce in a blender. Let this mixture brew for five minutes and season the salad. Very tasty and aromatic!
