The drug 'Erius': instructions for use

The medicine "Erius" describes the instructions for use as a drug belonging to a group of drugs called antihistamines. They have the ability to block peripheral H1 histamine receptors and suppress allergic reactions that occur under the influence of certain factors.

This drug, having the ability to have a sufficiently long antihistamine effect, does not, however, cause a sedative effect. In this case, less pronounced anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory actions are considered to be parallel to the main effect of the drug.

The indications for use of the Erius remedy are the instructions for use that consider the following manifestations of seasonal rhinitis that is allergic in nature:

- Nasal congestion.

- sneezing.

- Itching.

- lacrimation.

- Nasal discharge.

- Itching in the sky.

- Redness of the eyes.

- Reducing the symptoms of urticaria caused by allergies.

Forms of drug release

For the convenience of patients, and also due to the fact that the manifestation of allergic seasonal reactions can be very diverse, the drug is available in several dosage forms, which allows you to choose the most suitable option in each case.

The medicine “Erius” (syrup) is described by the instructions as a clear liquid of pronounced orange color. 5 milliliters of syrup contain 2.5 ml of the main active ingredient desloratadine.

The “Erius” product (tablets) describes the instructions for use as biconvex, round-shaped tablets with a light blue color, with an embossed name of the manufacturer on one side. Each tablet contains 5 ml of the active substance.

Dosage and specificity of administration

The preparation “Erius” recommends the use of the drug in the following doses (if syrup is taken):

- Children from two and a half to five years - 2.5 ml of syrup.

- For children aged five to eleven years, the dose of the drug is doubled - up to 5 ml of the drug.

Children are advised to use the drug in the form of syrup once a day, with a small amount of liquid.

- For adults, syrup is prescribed in a volume of 10 ml of syrup once, it must be taken regardless of food and washed down with liquid.

So take the "Erius" syrup.

The tablet instruction is recommended only for adults, their dosage is 5 milligrams, that is, one tablet once a day. If possible, the drug should be taken at the same time of the day - this will speed up getting rid of severe allergic symptoms.

Like any other drug, "Erius" has a number of contraindications. This is, first of all, hypersensitivity both to the main active substance in the composition of the drug, and to auxiliary components. In addition, it is not recommended to take the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. With great caution and exclusively under the supervision of a doctor, the drug should be used in patients suffering from liver diseases (at any stage) or renal failure.

As possible side effects caused by the use of the drug "Erius", the instructions for use call the following:

- Headache.

- A sharp increase in fatigue.

- Dry mouth.

- Rash.

- Anaphylactic manifestations.

It should be noted that almost all of these phenomena are more characteristic when using the drug in children. For adults, the presence of side effects is not typical and is noted in no more than 2-3% of cases. In this regard, the use of the drug is advisable to combat the signs of seasonal allergies, since the drug itself practically does not cause any of its manifestations.
