In 1961, the famous musician Alexander Dronov was born in Moscow. From an early age he gravitated to music. For his amazing hearing and talent, he was taken to a music school at the age of 5. He graduated with honors at 12. Alexander's specialty was piano. At the end of the 8th grade, he enters the Moscow Regional School in the class “Theory of Music”. In parallel, the musician improves his skills with the help of private lessons. His teacher becomes a famous performer Anton Ginsburg.

At that time, Alexander’s family moved to Zelenograd, from where he was drafted into the army. Like all young men with a musical education, he was drafted into the Division Orchestra, based in the Ural Military District. There Dronov Alexander participated in his first pop ensemble in his life. After completing the service, Alexander goes to work in a Zelenograd gymnasium, where he teaches music.

First music projects

The musician didn’t really like teaching students, so after 2 years he begins to look for work that is closer to him in spirit. First, he goes to the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya and at the same time begins to play with his brother in the Zelenograd group “Labyrinth”.

In 1986, for several months, he became the keyboardist of the Cruise band, after which he transferred as a session musician to the Stalker project. In 1990, he was invited to collaborate with Andrei Rublev, where he worked for a while, while doing a solo project. Work in professional groups allowed Alexander to get acquainted with eminent musicians and assemble his own group.

"Valkyrie"

Valkyrie group
In 1989, the Dronov brothers began work on the Valkyrie project (a group whose peak in popularity was in the early 1990s). Initially, the group did not have a name, the musicians just got together and worked on creating the first album. He came out quickly enough - in 1990. Alexander Dronov (keyboards, music author) is the only member who has not left the group so far and participated in the creation of all albums. In addition to him, in different years Maxim Udalov (drummer, known for his participation in the groups "Aria" and "Black Coffee"), Vladimir Dronov (bass) and Olga Lebedeva (vocals) participated in the group.

Thanks to Olga, the group got its name. Female vocals, combined with heavy metal music and symphony orchestra parts, inspired the correct name for the group.

The next disc, the Russian metal group has been preparing for 4 years. During this time, the composition of the team changed several times. In 1995, Alexander even announced the dissolution of the group and got a job in the Earthlings collective, from which he later transferred to Mango-Mango. In the 2000s, metal became fashionable again, and the musician decided to make a second attempt. "Valkyrie" was revived in a new composition, and 2 more albums were released, as well as 3 tracks for the reissued disc.

Since the Russian metal group of the musician often experienced not the best years, Dronov took part in other projects. For example, he wrote music for two films by Pavel Sanaev - “Last Weekend” and “Kaunas Blues”. Alexander Dronov recorded music on his own, in collaboration with guitarist Andrei Bochagov.

In 2007, the musician first collaborated with Cash and Nuki from the Slot group. With their participation, the Valkyrie is recording a new album, "Replenish the ranks." The musicians were pleased with the collaboration and repeated their experience after 9 years - in 2016 the Slot group helped the Dronov brothers record the new single Entheosophy, which it was decided to distribute via the Internet. Fans were attracted not so much by the unusual name of the track, but by the caricature cover.

After the first collaboration with the Slot group, the Valkyrie group was forgotten for two years. In 2009, they in the new composition for the first time visited the "Invasion". The group regained female vocals and a familiar style for fans. They repeated their triumph in 2010 and 2011, and since then, except for the single, no new material has been released. Fans argue that very soon Valkyrie will delight them with their new album, but the timing of its release has not yet been clearly specified.
