Subcutaneous tick

A subcutaneous tick is a parasite, about 0.2-0.4 millimeters in size, that parasitizes under human skin. For its habitat, the tick selects sebaceous glands, hair follicles. Sometimes the tick spreads in the eyelashes and eyebrows Quite often, a subcutaneous tick appears on the face. Usually tick affects oily skin of adolescents. Before puberty, the sebaceous glands of a person do not function, and after this period, thanks to the produced sex hormones, the glands intensively begin their work. This is the cause of oily skin in adolescence. A subcutaneous tick on the face can also appear on healthy skin. This can happen if the skin contains a large amount of subcutaneous fat.

In the event that the fat of the sebaceous glands disappears and the tick has nothing to eat, it will disappear by itself without any treatment. But if the skin remains oily for a long time, then the tick will multiply with greater intensity. Therefore, the fight against him will require considerable effort.

A subcutaneous tick on the face can affect the eyelids, eyebrow area, forehead, nasolabial folds, chin, ears. The chest and back suffer less from the parasite.

It is dangerous that the products produced by the tick are vital allergen, which quite often becomes one of the factors of skin infection. Demodecosis is a disease that causes a subcutaneous tick in humans.

Symptoms of the disease are as follows: the appearance of rosacea on the skin, seborrhea, inflammation and redness of the eyelids, severe unbearable itching. Over time, the symptoms of the disease intensify, and in addition to the main signs, profuse lacrimation, a sensation of a foreign object in the eyes, redness of the eyes, loss of eyelashes and the formation of white flakes can occur. However, at first, the subcutaneous tick may not cause any symptoms or cause slight eye irritation. It is dangerous that, as a result of parasitization of the tick, diseases of demodectic blepharitis and blepharoconjunctivitis can occur, which affect the eyes and are of a specific nature.

A subcutaneous tick on the face more often occurs in children suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, lungs and farsightedness. People with weakened immunity, trichomoniasis, and metabolic disorders are also most susceptible to this disease. Since the protective properties of the body are significantly reduced in elderly people, this age group is more prone to this disease.

Demodecosis is a chronic disease that periodically worsens. Usually, exacerbations are seasonal and occur in spring and autumn.
