Phenobarbital has a mild hypnotic and sedative effect, reduces central nervous system excitation and facilitates the onset of natural sleep. Together, all of these ingredients have the ability to dilate blood vessels, soothe, give a dream.
How did the drug "Corvalol"
During the Second World War, the production of the drug “Valocordin” was suspended, and it resumed only in the 50s. At that difficult post-war time, when millions of people were moving away from experienced stresses, the drug was very popular. This did not remain hidden from the attention of Soviet pharmacologists. So, in 1960, without further ado, at the Kiev pharmaceutical plant named after Mikhail Lomonosov they began to produce the drug Corvalol, which was similar to Valocordin. The only difference from the German medicine was that there was no hop oil in the Soviet-made drops. Perhaps he was expelled so that there wasn’t quite a banal theft. Then, on the basis of the plant, the pharmaceutical company Farmak was created, which to this day produces well-known drops.
Are there any differences?
A little later, Russia also began to produce the drug "Valoserdin" - a complete analogue of the German drug "Valocordin" (with the presence of hop oil). Now both medicines of domestic production are available for sale: both “Valoserdin” and “Corvalol”. What is the difference between these drugs, besides the fact that one of them contains oregano oil, but does not contain another? Except for the price. For an 15 ml bottle of Valoserdin drops, you will have to pay an average of 40-50 rubles, while a 25 ml Corvalol drops bottle will cost only 15-20 rubles.
By the way, the German drug Valocordin can also be bought at any pharmacy, but it is the most expensive of all three drugs - a bottle of drops of 20 milliliters costs 65-85 rubles. Meanwhile, in Germany this medication has not been used for a long time. The pharmaceutical company Krewel Meuselbach GmbH produces it exclusively for export to the countries of the former USSR.
Side effects
