To prepare syrup from chokeberry, the recipe requires the berries to be sorted, washed, poured into a cast iron, filled with water so that they are completely covered with it, and cook for about half an hour. For faster softening of mountain ash, cover the cauldron with a lid. Discard the finished berries in a colander and wipe through a thick sieve. Transfer the mashed potatoes again to the cast iron, add sugar, stir and let the drink boil. Boil another 5-10 minutes of chokeberry syrup. The recipe further prescribes to remove the iron from the stove, pour in the almond extract or liquor (you can take a teaspoon), pour it hot into sterile jars (do not add to the edge of your finger) and roll it up.
