short biography
Gorshenina Victoria Zakharovna was born in Chinese Harbin in 1919 in a family of emigrants who fled after the revolution. But then, during the construction of the CER, everyone returned to the Soviet Union. The girl was only fifteen when her father was arrested in the terrible thirties, and her mother and father's brothers were shot. They were all suspected of spying for Japan. And Victoria herself almost got into Stalin's camps. She and her sister had to live in very difficult conditions for many years.
Victoria Zakharovna was a student at the Chelyabinsk Pedagogical School. After graduation, she went on stage in the theaters of Leningrad and Sverdlovsk.
During the war, she studied at the Maly Theater at the Theater School, and even before Gorshenina received her diploma, in the 43rd she was enrolled in the Leningrad troupe of Arkady Raikin.
Gorshenina Victoria, the actress, almost did not go to the set because Raikin did not approve when his actors were shot. And yet she succeeded, however, either in small roles or in episodic ones. And in the theater itself, the actress worked for more than forty years, until 1987. And when Raikin died this year, she left the theater. Five years later, she and her husband emigrated to Germany, where their daughter Alena lived. Her husband was the famous director Jan Fried. They lived a long and happy life, having married on a significant day for the entire Soviet Union - Victory Day.
Her best movie work
How beautiful Victoria Gorshenina was in each of her roles. What is it worth only her duet with Mikhail Svetin, who, as it were, passed from film to film. This couple was so cute in the movie Ian Fried βThe Bat!β: βWater! Champagne! β Only masters of Soviet cinema could say a few words in the frame, but how filigree they played it! And if you recall her beautiful eyes, her radiance ... Victoria Zakharovna is truly a magnificent actress!
Another film that cannot be forgotten is Don Cesar de Bazan. This is the story of an impoverished nobleman, Cesar de Bazan, whom the first minister of King Don Jose persuades to marry a gypsy Maritan. After all, the nobleman should be shot right after the wedding. So it is necessary so that the cunning plan of don JosΓ© could come true, who planned to take revenge on the queen for the fact that she did not accept his love. But something happens that don Jose could not have foreseen: don Cesor remains alive, and he fell in love with his own wife.
In this two-part film, directed by Jan Fried, he again shot his wife. Victoria Gorshenina again played in a duet with Mikhail Svetin. According to the script, they were Viscountess Casilda de Montejo and Viscount de Montejo, and it was they who were to teach Don Cesar's wife all secular manners.
Last shelter
After moving to Germany for permanent residence, the actress no longer starred. At the beginning of the 2000s, being at a very respectable age, she wrote an autobiographical book, βThe Past Is Not Canceled.β
On September 8, 2014, a Telegraph source said that Victoria Gorshenina passed away in a German clinic after a long illness. The magnificent actress of the Soviet Union found the last refuge there, in Stuttgart, next to her husband, the outstanding director Jan Freed, with whom they lived 58 years.
