"Flavamed" for children: instructions for use of the drug

SARS has long been a leader among childhood diseases. They affect the upper and lower respiratory organs, causing a painful, reflex, in most cases unproductive (dry or with insufficient sputum discharge) cough. Such symptoms are often accompanied by impaired pulmonary ventilation, which negatively affects the well-being of the child.

The cough reflex has a protective function, with the help of which the bronchi and lungs are cleaned during the period of inflammation of the respiratory tract and impaired mucociliary clearance. Therefore, the correct appointment and conduct of antitussive treatment is very important. Therapy in this case should ensure the effective restoration of mucociliary clearance (transport of bronchial secretion). Proper treatment, as a rule, prevents the development of bacterial complications and significantly reduces the duration of the disease.

In the treatment of pediatric acute respiratory viral infections, the drug "Flavamed for children" has proven itself well. The instruction shows that the composition of this drug includes ambroxol, due to which it has an excellent expectorant, mucolytic, secremotor effect. Under the influence of ambroxol, sputum is effectively liquefied, as the production of liquid secretion by the bronchial glands increases. This substance also increases the activity of cilia of the ciliated apparatus, their gluing is prevented, which also contributes to the rapid and full release of sputum from the bronchi.

Flavamed is in the form of syrups and tablets. Syrups are available with an abroxol hydrochloride content of 15 mg / 5 ml, also 30 mg / 5 ml. They have a pleasant raspberry flavor.
