The meat in the oven with tomatoes and cheese, or as it is often called "French meat", will allow you to feed your family a hearty dinner or serve an amazingly fragrant, beautiful second for lunch. By the way, if you prefer chicken, which is not so high in calories and contains less fat than beef or pork, then it can also be used in the recipe.
How to cook meat in the oven with tomatoes and cheese
For several servings you will need:
- 400 g of beef meat;
- 2 large ripe tomatoes;
- 2-3 tbsp. l mayonnaise;
- 200 g of grated cheese;
- salt and spices.
First prepare the beef: it should be thawed, if it was frozen, cut into large enough pieces - from 400 g you should get 4-5 pieces, and beat off. So it will be softer. Each plate of meat needs to be pepper and sprinkle with spices to taste, but not salt. The baking dish must be thoroughly greased with vegetable oil and after that lay out all the slices, and then on top the pre-cut tomatoes (circles), a little spread with mayonnaise - this will make the dish juicier, and then sprinkle with grated cheese.

Do not spare the last, the more Parmesan or cheddar is, the tastier and more appetizing the crust will be. Next, our meat with tomatoes and cheese should be sent to the oven, preheated to 160-180 degrees, and brought to readiness within 40 minutes. As a result, you will get a very beautiful and tasty dish. It can be served with boiled potatoes or with vegetable salad. As you can see, the cooking process itself (with the exception of baking, which does not require your direct participation) takes no more than 10-15 minutes. And such a dinner will be appreciated by all members of your family. Meat in the oven with tomatoes and cheese can be prepared using pork, but in this case, the dish should be left in the oven for 1 hour. Also keep in mind that this type of meat contains more fat than beef. And if you prefer a dietary option, then you can try to cook this dish using chicken breasts. Meat under tomatoes and cheese - a dietary option with chicken breasts
To prepare, remove from the refrigerator:
- 3-4 chicken breasts;
- 3 fresh tomatoes;
- 2 onions;
- 200 g of grated cheese;
- spices, vegetable oil and salt.
Wash and dry the chicken breasts , for softness, you can slightly beat with a hammer, salt and sprinkle spices on both sides to taste. Cut tomatoes into rings and onions into rings. Then put on the baking sheet, greased with butter, first chicken, then onions and tomatoes, sprinkle with grated cheese thoroughly and bake for 30 minutes in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees. Note that in this recipe there is no mayonnaise, which further reduces its calorie content.
