Vomiting of bile - causes, symptoms and treatment

Before considering the issue of vomiting of bile, it is necessary to characterize the reflex process itself, the antiperistaltic of the stomach, which is characterized as vomiting.
The process itself, called “vomiting of bile”, is reflex and it originates in the vomiting center of the brain, and the reaction to the occurrence of vomiting begins to develop from unpleasant odors, with motion sickness, when changes occur in the vestibular apparatus that give a signal to the vomiting part of the brain.

Vomiting of bile can be caused by intoxication of the body, various infections, as well as a disease of the digestive system and other causes.
The main reasons can be divided into the following groups: it is infectious, when vomiting is caused by bacterial intoxication with staphylococci, clostridia, salmonella and other bacteria; as well as viral, caused by caliciviruses, rotaviruses and viral hepatitis.
The main diseases that can cause vomiting are adrenal gland diseases, diabetes mellitus and hyperthyroidism. Provoking factors also include pregnancy, the effect of drugs on the human body (cytostatics, opiates, aminophylline and others).
The cause may be intestinal obstruction in Crohn’s disease, in case of intestinal torsion, when a hernia is injured, and also in intestinal adhesions and peritonitis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis and myocardial infarction.
Vomiting of bile can be caused by neurogenic and other factors, such as acute radiation sickness, burns of varying severity and poisoning. It can occur with a brain disease and cerebrovascular accident, with acute emotional disorders and psychosomatic diseases.
Very often vomiting of bile is caused by diseases of the kidneys, internal genital organs of a woman, inflammation of the peritoneum, gall bladder, liver, intestines and stomach, as well as damage to the pharynx, root of the tongue and pharynx.
Vomiting can be caused by infections and intoxications, which irritate the vomiting center of the brain. All toxic substances secreted by microbes can accumulate in the kidneys and liver, which causes metabolic disorders in the body and the blood in which the toxins are located washing the brain begins to stimulate the vomiting of the brain, which causes vomiting.
Also, vomiting can occur in pregnant women, especially in the first half of pregnancy, when toxicosis is expressed. Vomiting of bile during pregnancy is a temporary phenomenon.
Before the emetic process begins, increased salivation occurs, the person breathes deeply, he has nausea, the diaphragm gradually drops, the glottis begins to close, the pyloric stomach begins to contract, and the lower food sphincter relaxes and vomiting begins.

At the same time, spastic contractions of the abdominal muscles and diaphragm increase, which makes it possible to increase intragastric and intra-abdominal pressure, and the contents of the stomach are released to the outside. The skin turns pale, blood pressure decreases, palpitations increase, sweating intensifies and general weakness sets in.
Vomiting can occur with infectious diseases, scarlet fever, typhoid, various intestinal infections, with food poisoning, with meningococcal meningitis, with lesions of the vestibular apparatus, with endocrine diseases, with chronic adrenal insufficiency, and bloody vomiting indicates bleeding in the esophagus.

If in the morning vomiting of bile is most often observed, then it is worth checking the stomach - this is often observed with gastritis. This phenomenon can also occur in case of disruption of other internal organs, especially the liver and bile ducts, as well as the pancreas. In this case, there may be vomiting with an admixture of bile and vomit is colored yellow-green, this is possible with chronic collecular cholecystitis, when pain develops in the right hypochondrium, and the skin and sclera of the eyes become icteric.

Vomiting occurs in people who eat a lot of fatty foods, while they may have inflammation of the bile ducts and the gallbladder itself, it may be cholelithiasis and biliary dyskinesia, or acute and chronic cholecystitis.
Thus, we can conclude that vomiting occurs for a variety of reasons, but bile vomiting can occur only with a disease of the bile-liver ducts and gall bladder, there is no special treatment for vomiting, it can only be avoided if the causes that cause it are eliminated, that is, treat the underlying disease.
