Cherry is a rich source of minerals (potassium, magnesium, iron) and vitamins A, C, PP, which are so necessary for our long winters. They are well preserved in dried, frozen and canned berries. The recipe for cherries in their own juice is a preparation that is tasty and healthy for the whole family. In addition, it is a good help for all housewives: canned cherries are excellently used for pies, cakes, homemade ice cream and delicious drinks.
For preservation you will need fresh cherry, granulated sugar, jars, lids. Quantity is:
- cherry - 1.5 kg;
- granulated sugar - 0.6 kg.
Spin pack: 2 cans (720 ml each) and metal lids.
Cherry Recipe in Own Juice
For convenience, we divide the canning process into separate stages. Cherry in its own juice, the recipe of which we are considering, is prepared as follows: preparing fruits, insisting, boiling and rolling in jars.
Cherries preparation
Rinse the fruit first, then sort it out, throwing out the spoiled, wormy or defective berries, tear off the tails. Then, using a small pin, remove the seeds in each cherry.
Sugar filling
Put the processed fruits in a container in which you will boil the berry. It should be a stainless steel tank. Take granulated sugar and sprinkle over the fruit. Shake the dishes well so that the sugar soaks the whole cherry, then the process of giving the juice will go better. Now the workpiece must be allowed to infuse for several hours (usually this is done at night) to form cherry juice.
Recipe for cherries in own juice (fruit cooking)
Place a bowl of cherries and juice on the stove, simmer until boiling over low heat. Hold on gas for another 10 minutes until all the jam begins to boil. Then turn it off and start pouring into cans.
Canning
When cooking cherries, prepare containers: jars and lids should be sterilized and hot. Pour jam into them so that there is no air left, and roll up the jars with lids. If juice does not flow out of the lid when tilting the can, then it is closed tightly. Turn the cans upside down, place them on a towel or napkin so that they cool. Then put them in a storage place.
Preparations for the winter (every housewife probably has recipes with photos) is a great opportunity to fortify yourself and your loved ones at any time of the year. In addition, you can use the berry for any culinary delights.
Microwave cherries recipe
For this preservation, peeled and washed seedless berries - 3 kg and granulated sugar - 1 kg will be needed. Sterilization and cooking will occur in the microwave. Rinse the jars, pour hot water into each one (about a third of the glass per 0.5 L jar), put them in the oven and leave them at 800 W for 5 minutes. Remove the cans, drain the water and place them upside down on a drying cloth.
Canning cherries
It happens as follows: dial 2 tbsp. tablespoons of cherries, put them on the bottom of the jar, sprinkle sugar on top, then put cherries and sugar again. Fill cans with these layers to the very top. Take the top layer so that the juice covers the entire volume of the can. Now put them in the microwave for 15 minutes at 800 rpm. After this time, the jam will start to foam, reduce the mode to 350 and hold for another 5 minutes. Now take out the cans, tighten their lids, turn them upside down, wrap them up. When cool, send them to a storage place.
