Tonsillitis

Almost every person in his life has encountered the problem of inflammation of the tonsils or, as it is also called, tonsillitis. As a rule, people, experiencing discomfort in the throat, suggest the appearance of a sore throat, which is clearly manifested in the glands. Tonsil inflammation in medical practice is considered the most common disease, since many causes can provoke its appearance.

It is believed that the main causative agent of this infection is streptococcus. There are three stages of the development of the disease. Tonsil inflammation in the first stage is characterized by a slight swelling and discomfort in the throat. On the second, the tonsils are so swollen that they protrude beyond the palatine arches. The most serious degree of inflammation is achieved when the tonsils are enlarged to such an extent that they almost touch each other.

Tonsil inflammation: symptoms.

A person feels severe weakness, lethargy in the legs, completely lost working capacity and ability to perceive information. This condition is accompanied by discomfort in the throat and sharp pain when swallowing. Most often, the appetite is lost from the disease, especially at elevated temperatures. If this condition is left without proper treatment, then complications can occur that will go to the ears and nose.

Tonsil inflammation is accompanied by the appearance of purulent wounds of a small size or even white plaque in the sky. It can be a symptom of some diseases of an infectious and non-infectious type. In most cases, the so-called tonsillitis still occurs as a sign of the manifestation of an ordinary sore throat. But there are other situations, for example, with leukemia or a sharp weakening of immunity, the body in this way signals about the existing problems. The main task of a specialist is to clearly identify the causes of infection. Based on the result, treatment is prescribed. After all, if inflammation of the tonsils was just the result of a serious illness, then it is necessary, in addition to relieving sore throats, to prescribe a full examination and treatment of the main cause.

Chronic inflammation of the tonsils requires special care for their health. Smoking is simply contraindicated for people suffering from this ailment, because regular ingress of nicotine into the nasopharyngeal sinuses has a destructive effect, negatively affecting the development of the mucous membrane. In addition, it is necessary to timely treat emerging acute respiratory diseases. Strengthening immunity should be a habit! Especially in the cold season, the body needs additional protection, since the immune system fights against the ubiquitous infections and bacteria. Proper nutrition and regular intake of vitamins can provide a strong immune system. As a rule, experts recommend a prophylactic treatment every three months.

In medical practice, there are cases where inflammation of the tonsils can lead to serious consequences or even threaten the life of the patient. In such circumstances, the doctor decides to undergo surgery, that is, removal of the tonsils. Tonsillectomy is called tonsillectomy. Strong inflammation can occur not only in the process of exposure to infections, but also due to serious psychological stress. An unstable state of the nervous system plays an important role in human life, as it leads to the appearance of many serious diseases.

At the first symptoms of tonsillitis, preventative measures should be taken. You can use the tips of traditional medicine, which offer several times a day to gargle with decoctions of herbs. For swollen tonsils, a decoction of sage or arnica is perfect. It is necessary to pour 1-2 teaspoons of the herb with hot water and insist for about 10 minutes, then strain this mixture and use it warm. After several applications, the patient feels significant relief.
