Cryptitis is an inflammation of the organo crypt. It comes in two forms. Acute is accompanied by sharp pains. In some cases, severity may be present. With this cryptitis, maceration of the skin occurs. The disease can be disturbed for 3 weeks. The appearance of chronic cryptitis depends on many reasons. These include sphincter spasm, coccygodynia, mucus hypersecretion.
If untreated, cryptitis can develop cancer. Therefore, be careful. If the disease is acute, the symptoms of cryptitis and the treatment of the disease should be determined by a specialist with a narrow profile. And only after that it is allowed to start therapy.
Causes
The cryptitis disease is promoted by frequent failures of the bowel movements, as well as mucosal dysfunction. Such malfunctions in the secretion of mucus do not properly lubricate the feces at the exit, so they are not completely excreted by the body.
That part of the stool, which at the exit settled in the anal sinuses, clogs them, preventing the withdrawal of mucus and contributing to its stagnation. And this leads to irritation and inflammation of large areas in the rectum. In general, the mucus produced by the body is a barrier that effectively prevents infection of tissues.
Key factors
The reason for the development of the disease is the favorable conditions that are created after infection or with inflammation. The main factors that provoke cryptitis are:
- prolonged constipation, which damage the rectal mucosa;
- protracted diarrhea, which irritates the mucous membrane of the crypts;
- residues of undigested solid food (bones, husks, fish bones) that injure the intestinal mucosa;
- injuries due to the presence of foreign objects in the rectum;
- an inflammatory process in the rectum or a disease of an infectious nature;
- an increase and inflammation of the hemorrhoid cones.
Symptoms
At the initial stage of inflammation, the patient has common signs:
- decreased immunity;
- fatigue;
- irritation and deterioration of health.
Signs of cryptitis can occur and disappear periodically, depending on the state of health. The symptoms of cryptitis are often confused with the symptoms of hemorrhoids. As the disease develops, such characteristic signs are observed as:
- acute pain and severe burning in the abdomen in a relaxed state and increased pain during physical exertion and during movement;
- the formation of abscesses and fistulas, which leads to discomfort and a feeling of the presence of a foreign body in the rectum;
- fever;
- chills;
- hard stool with blood;
- increased intestinal motility;
- constipation and cramping;
- bowel pain accompanied by bleeding;
- loss of appetite;
- redness, hardening and swelling of tissues in the anus;
- frequent bowel movements;
- secretion of mucus or pus from the anus;
- blockage of the passages of the anal gland;
- stress and emotional distress associated with shame;
- other diseases and inflammation of the digestive system, as a result of the development of cryptitis (inflammation of the anal gland).
Diagnostics
When diagnosing a disease, the patient goes through the following stages:
- History taking.
- Inspection Given the patient's complaints, the doctor conducts an external examination of the genital area, and also palpates the perianal region. If the inflammation does not go beyond the crypts, then the external examination of the anus will be unchanged. Finger rectal examination allows you to detect soreness, swelling and suppuration of the crypts.
- Laboratory research. Increased rates of inflammatory markers (ESR, leukocytosis) are noted.
- Anoscopy - a study is performed using a rectal mirror. Thanks to this method, you can see the swelling and redness of the crypt region, the presence of white plaque and the discharge of purulent secretions.
- Sigmoidoscopy allows you to determine the integrity of the mucous membranes of the rectum and sigmoid colon. It is used for suspected concomitant diseases.
- Ultrasonography. The method is performed using a rectal or vaginal probe.
- Proctography. Refers to x-ray examination. It is carried out by introducing a contrast medium.
- Biopsy. Used to clarify the diagnosis in the presence of suspicious areas on the mucosa of the intestinal wall. During anoscopy, a biopsy sample is taken for histology.
Drug treatment
Symptoms of the disease (the inflammatory process in the anal canals and crypts), proceeding in a chronic form, give the patient a lot of unpleasant sensations, and in the acute stage are characterized by intense throbbing pain and significant difficulties during bowel movements. Given the above, adequate, timely treatment of cryptitis symptoms is of particular importance.
Modern medical practice of therapy consists primarily in eliminating the root causes of such pathologies, removing the inflammatory process, alleviating symptoms and painful sensations. Below are the main directions of drug treatment, indicating the main pharmacological groups of drugs necessary for this.
The treatment of cryptitis with folk remedies can also be called effective. There are many prescriptions for therapy, but only a few are considered the most effective. To prepare, take a few tablespoons of dry chamomile, 100 ml of water and put in a water bath. Boil for 15 minutes. This broth needs to be poured into the bath when bathing.
There are various methods for treating the symptoms of cryptitis, a photo of which is not attached for aesthetic reasons. It:
- Conservative method.
- Surgical intervention. If the traditional treatment of cryptitis with drugs does not give a result, then surgical intervention is recommended. It is carried out using local anesthesia.
- Radio wave method. This is the most dangerous treatment in which it is almost impossible to avoid exposure to healthy tissues. The plus is that it helps to quickly achieve results.
- Infrared coagulation. The most painless method.
Antibiotics
The acute stage of cryptitis development is characterized by a clear inflammatory process with intoxication syndrome, in addition, cryptitis is often accompanied by purulent accumulations. Therefore, for the treatment of the described conditions, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory therapy is necessary, which is carried out using groups of antibiotics in tablet or injection form, and in the form of suppositories for rectal use.
When choosing a group of antibiotics for cryptitis, the attending physician, as a rule, prefers a wide range of drugs, namely, such medicines suitable for the treatment of cryptitis, the reviews of which are positive:
- Cefotaxime;
- Metronidazole
- Gentamicin.
Candles and ointments
As mentioned above, in parallel with antibiotic treatment, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory therapy is carried out with the help of rectal suppositories and ointments, which, in addition to these properties, have an analgesic effect and eliminate unpleasant sensations.
Among the most effective and used most often, only a few drugs should be distinguished. More worth stopping at the treatment of cryptitis with candles and ointments:
- Aurobin ointment is an anti-inflammatory agent based on prednisone with an analgesic effect, which is provided due to the presence of lidocaine hydrochloride in the preparation. The ointment has a good wound healing and reducing itching and burning effect.
- "Proctosan" (in the form of ointments and suppositories) - the drug most often used for cryptitis with an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect. "Proctosan" is a combination product that restores damaged tissue, relieves burning and itching.
- Ointment and Levomikol gel is a medicine based on methyluracil and chloramphenicol. Effectively affects bacteria and pathogens, restores the tissues of the anus affected by the inflammatory process, eliminates the symptoms of the disease. With cryptitis, either a gauze swab or a cotton pad soaked with Levomikol is introduced into the anus.
- Ointment and suppositories "Proctosedil" is a multicomponent remedy that helps fight the root cause of cryptitis - hemorrhoids. In addition, the drug relieves inflammation, eliminates pain, heals wounds and cracks in the anus, improves venous circulation in the anus, and has an antimicrobial effect.
- Diphenhydramine suppositories, which eliminate the symptoms of cryptitis (pain, burning, fever), are also widely popular.
Medication Guidelines
There are some recommendations for the use of rectal pharmacological drugs, namely:
- Before applying the medicine, it is recommended to empty the intestine, so that in the future during defecation, do not remove the ointment or suppository from the anus;
- the area of ββthe perineum and anus should be thoroughly washed with warm soapy water and, if possible, take a local bath based on medicinal herbs antibacterial solutions;
- the ointment is directly applied to the skin around the anus and is inserted into the rectal canal using a special applicator;
- suppositories (suppositories) are introduced into the anus.
Sorbents
Very often, cryptitis is the result of a defecation disorder - from debilitating diarrhea to prolonged constipation. In the first case, the attending physician recommends taking sorbents and antidiarrheal drugs, among which:
In case of constipation, laxatives are prescribed (in this case, an advantage is given to herbal formulations), including:
- Senade
- "Bisacodylus";
- "Lactulose."
However, it is important to note here that it is advisable to deal with constipation with enemas, since laxatives cause repeated bowel movements, which in turn is a factor that irritates the rectal area. Laxatives are recommended only for persistent chronic constipation.
Immune stimulating
In order for the personβs own immune system to more effectively fight and cope with the inflammatory process in the body, with cryptitis it will be useful to use immunostimulating drugs, as well as vitamin complexes.
Prevention
The prevention of cryptitis, its complications and exacerbations consists in observing the hygiene of the anus and involves washing the anus with cold water after each stool. This helps to reduce blood flow to the rectum. In order to prevent inflammation, you can make hot baths with a solution of potassium permanganate.
A good result is given by therapeutic exercises that improve blood circulation in the pelvic area. It is important to achieve normalization of the stool and eliminate constipation, using a milk-vegetable diet and the right methods of processing foods (cooking, stewing).
It should be removed from the menu foods that cause irritation of the intestinal mucosa, it is forbidden to eat fatty and fried foods, spicy, salty, spicy and pickled dishes, carbonated drinks. It is also worth reducing the consumption of flour dishes, sweets, chocolate, strong coffee and tea.
