Symbiote Venom: creation story, types, plots, fictional biography, carriers and abilities

Symbiote Venom is the hero of the Marvel comics. Venom usually appears in a comic book series with Spider-Man, mostly being his adversary. Initially, the hero acted as a villain, but later received the title of antihero. Venom is a rational creature from another planet, its body resembles a viscous liquid, the shape of which Venom can control at will. Like really existing symbiotes, Venom is not able to exist without a host - almost always it chooses a human carrier. Combining with a symbiote gives a person superpowers - the combination of a person and a symbiote produces an entity called Venom.

The first known carrier in the Marvel comics of the Venom symbiote was Spider-Man: later he had to abandon the union, learning about the creature’s true intentions. Later, the symbiote connected with other hosts, including Eddie Brock, who became the most famous Venom and the main opponent of Spider-Man. Venom is one of the main threats to humanity.

Origin

The story of the Venom symbiote comes from deep space. The Klintars (the name of the symbiotic race itself) came from the Andromeda Galaxy. The Venom symbiotic planet is a peaceful society that seeks to help other species. Klintars create heroes, uniting with physically and spiritually developed masters. However, the carriers are not always so friendly: they are able to spoil the symbiots, turning them into the likeness of parasites, configured to withstand their peaceful and friendly brothers. There are much more such defective Klintar people than their positive counterparts. Over time, they united in a special culture, the purpose of which was the infection of other planets. Evil Venom symbiots are pushing their carriers to perform life-threatening exploits in order to receive a dose of adrenaline and phenylethylamine, thanks to which symbiotes can exist. Parasites suck all the forces from the carrier until the hosts die, killed by stress or a risky act. Symbiotic Venom exists only at the expense of its owner.

The first owner of Venom took advantage of his powers for the genocide of an entire planet - so Venom acquired the properties of a parasite. Once he was captured by an armed merchant who experimented with him to increase aggression and rage. In the end, the symbiote managed to escape, but among the congeners he remained incomprehensible, as he strove for an equal alliance with the carrier, like rational and benevolent Klintars, and not for the complete enslavement of the carrier. Therefore, Venom was imprisoned, where he was sentenced to death by corruption.

who will become a symbiote

Venom and its owners

In one of the comics, it became known that for the first time Deadpool came across a dungeon, after which he briefly became the master of Venom. But besides him, there are 5 Venom symbiots, which are considered the main ones in the comic book line.

Peter Parker

Due to damage to the suit, Spider-Man had to go to the factory. Upon arrival, he stumbled upon a prison module, inside which a symbiote was imprisoned. Peter activated the mechanism and released the dark sphere. Spider-Man touched its surface, and she wrapped it with her head. Reacting to Parker's thoughts on the outfit, the liquid sphere took the form of a new black spider suit. A new outfit gave him several new unusual forces. Peter soon realizes that the costume is an alien parasite, wanting to get his body and mind. With the help of the members of the Fantastic Four, the Spider learns that the symbiote does not tolerate powerful sound vibrations and high temperatures. Thanks to this knowledge, he manages to take off his suit and lure Venom back to the prison cell, but soon he manages to escape. He hides in Peter’s closet, taking the form of a familiar blue-red suit, wishing to unite with his master by cunning. Later, Peter Parker fights with the Vulture in a church, where with the help of ringing bells, he finally manages to completely get rid of the influence of Venom.

Eddie brock

Venom eddie brock

Eddie was a journalist who once wrote a false article, which was subsequently publicly exposed by Peter Parker, which destroyed the reporter's successful career and forced him to return to the humiliating work in cheap publications. Attracted by Eddie's dislike of Peter, the symbiote teamed up with Brock. The new Venom began to speak of “we” about itself, which indicates that the symbiote and Brock are two separate personalities in one body. Being in the body of Eddie Brock, the Venom symbiote often fought Spider-Man until he threw him to the island where Brock opened his eyes to life - he reconsidered his attitude to the world and decided to devote himself to confronting evil.

He began to help Parker and other heroes. Brock later discovers that he is ill with cancer, after which he gives the symbiote to Don Fortunato, but heavy hallucinations about the dark side of his personality do not leave him. Later, Brock again became a carrier of a symbiote named Anti-Venom, who would later become Parker's good friend. Subsequently, Eddie was forced to sacrifice him to save people. Later, he was found by one person and combined Brock with the symbiote Toxin.

Mack Gargan

Mac Gargan was an unknown villain until Venom offered him a merger, promising amazing opportunities. Gargan agreed, thanks to which he later became a member of the Ominous Dozen Norman Osborn. The Venom symbiote perfectly controlled Mack's body and personality. When the symbiote ceased to function, Gargan spoke hostilely about his body, but the symbiote did not drive away, continuing to create atrocities.

Flash thompson

The new carrier of the alien became Flash. With the help of Venom, his legs recovered, and in addition he received superpowers, like Spider-Man. The government signs a contract with him for important tasks, as Thompson kept equals with the symbiote. However, this did not last long: Flash loses control and attacks Peter Parker. The authorities are trying to eliminate Thompson, but everything turns into a crash: the costume secretly from all returned explosives to the feet of enemies. Next, Flash, along with Peter, saves Betty, and upon returning to the base, Flash claims to the team that he is on their side.

Lee Price

Venom lee Price

Not so long ago, another price symbiote carrier Lee Price was introduced. The bloodthirsty, but cold-blooded killer has powerful psychological stability: he managed to subdue Venom of his own free will. After being temporarily among the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy team, Venom decides not to kill anymore, which is why his alliance with Price has become especially difficult for Venom. The symbiote has ceased to be the monster that it once was. Subsequently, Price was separated from the symbiote and given into the hands of the government.

Other owners

Symbiont Carnage

Ann Weing Brock is the former wife of Eddie Brock, with whom the symbiote connected twice. After all that happened, Ann's psyche staggered, and she committed suicide, unable to withstand the stress.

Angelo Fortunato is the son of Don Fortunato. He showed himself to be a very weak personality, so Venom left him, right in the air, after which he suddenly died, having crashed when falling from a great height.

Thaddeus Ross received a symbiote during Blackhart's battle with Flash Thompson. The Red Hulk gained the powers of the Ghost Rider, and having defeated Blackhart, General Ross returned Flash and Alejandra abilities.

Cal Henriksen is the first soldier involved in the Venom operation. He managed to overcome the 48-hour threshold, after which it was eliminated using a special device.

Abilities

Although the symbiote needs a carrier to survive, the Venom symbiote also demonstrated that it has its own powers.

At first, Venom remained dumb, but later began to frequently change carriers and got the opportunity to talk.

The symbiote has telepathy: it does not need physical contact to affect consciousness. In addition, it can take any form and merge with the environment.

Venom is also endowed with protection from the Punishing Vision - an additional superpower of the Ghost Rider.

In order to survive, Venom needs special chemical compounds that occur in functioning brain cells. When Venom is hungry, he is able to create a temporary exoskeleton with which he can hunt and kill victims without the help of a carrier.

When a symbiote is shot or otherwise injured, it inflates in size with rage: when adrenaline is produced in the host's body, Venom generates new genes. However, not every host is able to interact with the symbiote in such a difficult way.

Alternate Versions

Symbiont Anti-Venom

The Marvel Universe is rich in alternative branches of plot development. Comic book creators love to fantasize about the variations of their characters and often launch additional arches and series with a parallel, unrelated to the main line plot branch.

Ultimate marvel

In the Ultimate Spider-Man series, Venom was not an alien, but the embodiment of a cancer drug created by Parker's father. The drug was dissolved in a cancer patient, Eddie Brock, as a result of which he turned into a Venoma. In a fierce battle between Venom and the Spider, it disappears. After some time, everyone understands that the drug suddenly became part of Eddie’s body. Meanwhile, the Venom costume tried to steal the Silver Sable - as a result, Venom is stolen, but he is rescued by a supervillain named Beetle. Between them a fight ensues, in which Spider-Man and Silver Sable take part. At a crucial moment, the costume moves from Eddie to Peter. Suddenly, the Ultimate gang appears and copes with the Spider Venom, after which the costume disappears again. Suddenly Gwen Stacy appears , able to transform into Carnage. Venom and Carnage clash face to face, and another symbiote battle takes place against Venom. During a long and fierce battle, Venom swallows the enemy. Symbiote Venom and Carnage merge into the strongest supersymbiot. As a result, Venoma again steals the Beetle and flies to Latvia.

According to Ultimate, Venom has no intelligence, nor does it have the powers of Spider-Man. It absorbs human energy and can transform hands into tentacles of unimaginable length. He also knows how to crawl on walls.

As a result, the symbiote is even ready to sacrifice its life in an effort to save the heroine from Hobgoblin.

Marvel 2099

The symbiote takes to the streets of New York. He shares himself with Cron Stone, a bandit and half-brother of Miguel O'Hara. So the symbiote becomes Venom 2099: this Venom has a white head, and the spider sign is assembled from a strong web. In the end, the symbiote gets hooked up to Roman.

But Spider-Man triumphs over him, killing Venom, gaining the support of Sandman.

Mangaverse

It is Venom who is to blame for the death of Uncle Ben, in revenge Parker defeats Venom Kinglin’s father and is going to kill him, but still does not do this, while Venom attempts to finish off Kinglin in order to gain control of the New York gangs.

The symbiote appears as a black liquid released from the amulet. He secretly sucks life energy from the owner of the amulet: when Peter Parker, obsessed with the amulet, takes it off himself, he dies from a lack of strength. Venom, meanwhile, grabs the pendant and decides to sacrifice his life energy in order to save Spider's life. Parker returns to life when there is nothing left of Venom but the skeleton. The amulet returns to Kinglin, who heals himself with his help.

Venom is later mentioned in Elemental Evil, already alive, but with some changes: its skin now has a dark blue hue, the shape of the jaws has changed and a long snake tongue has been added, as well as some new strengths. Venom again becomes a friend of Spider-Man. To the questions of how he managed to survive, he only answers: "I was lucky."

Spider-Man & Red Sonja

In the limited series Spider-Man & Red Sonja, the story unfolds before the events of the Civil War: the sorcerer Kulan Gat divided Eddie Brock and the symbiote, wishing to merge with the latter. Kulan Venom possessed not only the abilities of a symbiote, but also magic. After the rebellion against the despotic reign of Kulan, the symbiote again sat down to Brock.

Another line of comics, designed to reflect on what would happen if some events happened in a different way. What if…

  1. ... A symbiotic outfit will capture Spider-Man. After uniting with the symbiote, Spider-Man does not have time to communicate with Mr. Fantastic, and the symbiotic outfit takes possession of him. Thor fights with Venom-Hulk and defeats him, but soon the symbiote also captures Thor. Using the voice of the Black Thunder, the characters manage to defeat the symbiote and free Thor. Heroes plan to send the parasite to another dimension, but the Black Cat kills Venom in revenge for Spider-Man.
  2. ... Venom will unite with the Punisher. When Peter Parker becomes free from Venom, he unites with the Punisher, and not with Eddie Brock. In the end, Venom takes over Frank, defeating Spider-Man, the Moon Knight and Daredevil, but the Spider launches an acoustic bomb, which gives the Punisher the opportunity to defeat the alien. In order to no longer allow himself to do evil, the Punisher decides to end his life, but the symbiote leaves the face of the punisher, forming a skull on his chest. The punisher tells his friend that from that moment he is able to control everything.
  3. ... Marvel superheroes will remain in the World of War. In this comic book, the heroes fall into a trap in the World of War, where they have to start life anew.
