The prequel of the franchise directed by Richard Donner (who later became famous for the comedy thriller The Deadly Weapon) was the most outstanding of this series. Maybe, thanks to the script written by David Zeltser, or maybe because the famous role was played by the famous Gregory Peck. His hero, a prominent US diplomat, unknowingly adopted a child of the devil. He and his family became bargaining chips in a major game of dark forces.
