After the failed Alcatraz, JJ Abrams was eager to rehabilitate himself and make a successful product. With a relatively low rating (IMDb: 6.7), the Revolution television movie was nominated for Sputnik, TV Guide, and won prizes from the winner of the Emmy, BMI TV Music Awards, and Saturn. Nevertheless, among the majority of positive reviews, the series "Revolution" has several skeptical ratings from world film critics and negative reviews from ordinary people.

For skeptical critics, the factual side of the story raised a lot of questions for the project’s screenwriters. In their reviews of the series "Revolution" they spoke very clearly, emphasizing the almost complete absence of logic. However, the audience did not delve too much into the semantic background, because there are more than enough spectacular action scenes in the project.
