American writer David Mark Weber: biography and creativity

Currently, one of the most popular genres in literature is fiction. Many writers devote their work to this direction. One of them is David Mark Weber, who creates works in the genre of military science fiction. He wrote several dozens of famous novels.

Biography

The future writer was born October 24, 1952 in the United States, the city of Cleveland, which is located in Ohio. When David Mark Weber was about 2 years old, the family moved to South Carolina, where the whole childhood of the science fiction writer passed.

After graduating from school in 1970, Weber entered Greenville Technical College, where he studied for two years. Then he went to Warren Wilson College. Weber received his higher education at Appalachian State University in North Carolina.

On his official website in the Biography section, David Mark Weber mentions that his parents loved to read and taught their children to do this. The greatest influence on the writer's work was made by the works of Robert Heinlein and Keith Laumer.

Weber's works were first published in 1990 - the debut book was the novel Uprising.

Mostly the work of the writer is devoted to the genre of military science fiction. Weber is one of the few authors who write about the war, but who have no practical experience in this area.

Weber's most famous novels are considered works about the Universe Honor Harrington. The action takes place in the distant future, in 4000 BC. e. Humanity has colonized the entire solar system and the planets closest to it.

Another series of David Mark Weber’s novels is the Safehold series, currently consisting of 10 books. The action also takes place in the distant future, in the 31st century. Seyfhold is the name of the last planet on which the representatives of the human race still remained after all other worlds inhabited by people were destroyed.
