Amanda Clark: contemporary artist and illustrator

Amanda Clark is a contemporary artist and illustrator hailing from Melbourne, Australia. She now lives in the village of Shelford in England, UK.

Amanda created a series of celebrity portraits using photographic reference sources. A series of works with Heath Ledger was done shortly after the tragic death of the actor. Clark also painted Michael Jackson after his sudden demise.

Becoming Amanda Clarke as an Artist

The most powerful influence on Amanda was her father. Rick Clark became an artist after a long and successful career in business. He left Inverloch, where he created and sold many works, including landscapes of local nature. Moving to Sorrento was the beginning of a love affair with the beautiful land and seascape of the surrounding area, and many of his paintings adorn the walls of local buildings.

Rick's love of painting and drawing became a vivid example for Amanda, and she recalls that she never saw him as happy as when he was holding a brush in his hands.

Having experience in the field of natural sciences, Amanda, like her father, gave up her career in science and business to devote more time to the study of art. Traveling for work and pleasure opened up amazing places for her around the world, and Amanda began to expand her repertoire, including landscapes, including sea and city, of those places she had visited during her travels.

Amanda Clark is primarily self-taught, although she participated in many art courses and seminars. In 2010, Amanda entered Latrobes College of Art and Design, specializing in fine art.

This gave her knowledge and understanding of new techniques and skills in painting, drawing, sculpture and installations, and also became a valuable source of inspiration. She discovered new techniques, including street art.

Creative activity

The artist Amanda Clark received a state diploma in ceramics in the early 1990s, which helped her to develop the use of color and texture in her paintings. She also creates jewelry, ceramics and unusual dolls.

Amanda Clarke's paintings have been featured at several art exhibitions in Melbourne, including such as Camberwell and Brighton Rotary Club Art Shows. And in 2009, she first exhibited her work in an art salon in Sorrento. Amanda also regularly participated in various exhibitions held at the Continental Hotel in Sorrento.

Together with other artists, she staged a group show called A Class Act in 2007 in Port Melbourne, and in 2010 she presented a resin installation for an exhibition marking the end of the year at Latrobe College of Art and Design called Studio Art Exhibition 2010 "

Today, the works of Amanda Clark are among collectors in the UK, Spain and Australia.

As an artist, Amanda Clark is inspired by folklore, myths and pastoral beautiful landscapes depicting fairy-tale characters. She paints with acrylics and watercolors, creating depth and texture in her works. She has also illustrated four books and is currently designing the fifth book on magical herbs.
