When it comes to electricity, you need to know the basic safety rules: the first current conductor is metal and water. When using electrical appliances, dry your hands. Now in fashion metal household appliances, microwave,
electric kettle, pressure cooker, etc. If you bought a similar technique, first make sure that it is working and without factory defects. Only then can it be used in everyday life. Since if this technique turns out to be malfunctioning, you may be exposed to electric shock! Also, we must not forget the fact that any electrical device may fail. Take, for example, a washing machine. Each of us saw an advertisement when a washing machine, which becomes unusable, stands in a pool of water. If you find yourself in a similar situation, do not immediately run to the typewriter and shrug! It can end up much sadder than just a broken household appliance. First you need to disconnect it from the electrical network, and then look what the problem is!
You also need to consider that in every family there are children or they will be. First of all, you need to limit access to outlets and put plugs. Itβs hard for a child to explain that electricity is dangerous. Electric shock affects
the human nervous system, even the most harmless discharge. And if we take into account the fact that the nervous system in children is constantly developing, then the electric shock affects more and leaves consequences.
The effects of electric shock can have the following: an increase in internal pressure, and the higher the voltage, the more the internal pressure rises. For this reason, after an electric shock has occurred, the victim may bleed from the nose and mouth. Also, foam may appear on the victimβs lips. Sometimes there is a stiffening of the respiratory tract (a person begins to choke), or even a respiratory arrest. There is a defeat of the soft tissues (burns), as well as their complete combustion. Electric shock entails damage not only to the external tissues, but also to the internal organs. First of all, the heart suffers, the rhythm of the heartbeat may increase, it may slow down, or the organ will stop altogether. Arrhythmia and other cardiovascular diseases can occur as a result of electric shock.
First Aid for Electric Shock Victims
If a person is shocked by electricity, you must turn off the power source as soon as possible. But at the same time, be careful not to fall under the influence of current yourself. Turn off the switch if it is near. If the knife switch is not there, you can free the victim with a wooden bar or just a board, stick, but make sure they are dry enough to protect you from the effects of electric current. You can also use plastic items, a plastic bag and rubber. After you have released the victim from exposure to electric current, you need to provide first aid. If the victim is unconscious and bleeds from his nose or
foam from his mouth, he needs to release his airways.
Place the victim on his side so that blood or foam escapes and does not collect in the airways. Check for pulse and breathing; if they are missing, you need to do artificial respiration. Artificial respiration must be done until the victim is able to breathe on his own or until a medical professional arrives.
