Inflammation of the appendages

Inflammation of the appendages is a very common disease, from which up to 60% of all Russian women suffer. Unfortunately, not everyone treats him responsibly enough, which leads to various complications, including persistent infertility. In order to avoid such unpleasant consequences, it is necessary to follow simple preventive recommendations and not delay the treatment.

The inflammatory process in the appendages (adnexitis) can lead to menstrual irregularities, unpleasant purulent discharge. In the chronic course of the disease, pathological changes occur throughout the body, the symptoms are manifested by headache, insomnia, pain, fever.

A woman may not notice a disease for a long time, because after a period
exacerbation of the symptoms disappear. Symptoms of adnexitis are
pain in the lower abdomen, and often in the sacral and lumbar
parts of the spine. Pain intensifies with physical exertion, menstruation,
sexual contacts. The inflammatory process is accompanied by purulent or
serous secretions that cause itching and irritation of the external genitalia
organs.

The main cause of inflammation is hypothermia, especially in winter. The disease can occur as a complication of infectious diseases, especially if the immune system is weakened. Common causes of the inflammatory process in the appendages are also stress, overwork, a violation of a balanced diet due to diets. Inflammation of the appendages can be caused by damage to the reproductive system during abortion or childbirth, as well as regular large blood loss during menstruation.

Most often, inflammation of the appendages occurs in women of reproductive age, much less often in menopause. Acute inflammation of the appendages can cause cystitis. Since the bladder is adjacent to the appendages, the infection can move to nearby organs. In the acute form of adnexitis, the temperature rises, malaise and chills appear, severe pains occur in the lower third of the abdomen. If this disease is not treated, then the acute inflammatory process becomes chronic in two weeks.

The causative agents of adnexitis are streptococci, Escherichia coli, gonococci.
A very dangerous complication may be the transition of inflammatory processes in
abdominal cavity (peritonitis). Symptoms are expressed in a sharp increase
temperature, sharp pains in the lower abdomen, worsening of the general condition of the patient. If you do not begin to urgently treat the disease - a fatal outcome is possible. An equally terrible consequence is infertility, which causes inflammation of the appendages. The consequences may occur in an ectopic pregnancy.

Inflammation of the appendages should be treated comprehensively. In the chronic stage of adnexitis, antibiotic therapy, physiotherapy, as well as symptomatic and balneological treatment are indicated. Often there is a need for surgical intervention in the acute stage of the disease. The treatment of adnexitis depends on the type of disease and its form. In the acute form, an examination is performed, during which a bacterium or virus is detected that caused inflammation of the appendages. Physiotherapeutic antibiotics are prescribed
procedures and immunity strengthening drugs. In the case of the formation of an abscess and the development of peritonitis, surgical intervention is prescribed.

Prevention of adnexitis is the prevention of abortion, as well as timely postpartum treatment. It is recommended to avoid hypothermia, stress, excessive physical exertion and overwork.
