Disturbing bump on hand? It's hygroma

The initial phase of the development of many diseases proceeds unnoticed, with no obvious signs. But sooner or later, the human body begins to give alarming signals about the destructive processes taking place inside it. Such a signal is, for example, the formed bump on the arm.

bump on the hand

Unlike arising skin seals in other, less open parts of the body, a bump on the arm is detected at the very early stage of its development. It is difficult not to notice it, regardless of whether it brings painful sensations or doesn’t interfere with life at all.

Hygroma

The reasons and "places" for the occurrence of cones are different. This may be manifestations of gout, osteoporosis, arthrosis, arthritis, varicose veins of the upper extremities. A bump on the finger of the hand tends to lead to curvature of the fingers and painful sensations.

But the most common cause is problems with the joints of the hands caused by excessive physical exertion or an injury to the arm. This leads to inflammatory processes in the joints and the deposition of salts in them.

Hygroma looks like a bump on the arm under the skin. This creates the feeling that a solid ball is present inside the tumor. Usually a hygroma is “born” on the wrist joint, which causes physical discomfort to the movements of the hand. As a rule, a tumor has a diameter from half a centimeter to three, is inactive, and does not change the color of the skin.

Many "owners" of hygroma live with her all their lives. Get used to it, not really feeling her presence. In this case, the bump on the arm does not require surgical intervention.

An appointment with specialist doctors is required if the hygroma becomes a source of constant pain, increases in size or corrupts the beauty of the hands, which is very important for women.

Hygroma Treatment

Initially, a rather “barbaric” method, crushing, was used to remove hygroma. Its essence was reduced to a mechanical blow to the cone in order to push the joint fluid and other elements accumulated inside it into the surrounding tissue.

Such a “hard” method often led to unpleasant relapses - the bump on the arm was subjected to acute inflammation and suppuration. In addition, over time, the structure of the tumor was restored and acquired its original form.

In the 80s of the last century, such treatment was recognized as ineffective and inhumane, finding a more effective and “merciful” alternative. Now they use a puncture of the cone, followed by pumping out its "filling" and the introduction of drugs inside.

Surgical “excision” of the tumor is also relevant, after which the wound is disinfected and the remnants of the “growth” are completely removed using laser technology.

The need for such methods of treating cones on the hands arises with a “neglected” state of the disease. In the early stages of hygroma development, such procedures as electrophoresis, ultraviolet irradiation, paraffin and mud applications can stop and even “eliminate” the tumor.

There is also a mass of “folk methods” of getting rid of cones on the hands. But seeking the help of qualified doctors is more preferable, since the reasons for the formation of growths can be different, and, in addition to the physical elimination of the lump, additional treatment is necessary.
