The Vikings called the participants of the medieval Scandinavian sea voyages in the eighth to eleventh centuries. They are often portrayed as stern bearded men with an ax in their hand and a horned helmet on their heads. And although in fact they did not wear it, this attribute for some reason was firmly entrenched in the image of the Viking, which we will try to draw.
Materials
To draw a viking, you will need a pencil or marker, as well as a sheet of plain office paper. At the very end of the work, you can use a set of colored pencils or felt-tip pens for coloring.
How to draw a viking
First, a helmet. To do this, draw a figure resembling a semicircle with a slightly pointed apex. Then draw a long, slightly curved line running through its bottom and protruding from both sides.
Continue it, bending it with both edges up. From the top points of this strip, draw one bent down to the helmet, forming horns.
Add more along the line at their base, as well as at the bottom of the helmet, on the bottom line of which depict several small circles.
Now, to draw a Viking, draw bushy eyebrows under the helmet. Between them add a big nose.
Immediately beneath the eyebrows, add two circles, inside of which - one more circle. It will be the eyes.
At their level, finish your hero with small ears in the shape of the letter "C", and then under the nose with a zigzag line - and a beard. Also label the mouth.
Further, to draw a Viking, in a zigzag pattern depict an elongated semicircle running from the middle of the ear to the middle of the beard. Draw the same figure on the other side. It will be the shoulders of a viking.
On the left, stepping back a little, draw a circle (it will be a shield), inside which draw another one, but a little smaller. Draw several diagonal lines on it. Connect the shield with the figure above it with two vertical lines.
From the Vikingβs right shoulder, lower the two strips down, and draw a squeezed square fist with a small ax on their end.
Rectangles indicate the body, belt and lower part of clothing. Draw legs at the bottom.
After you have managed to draw a Viking with a pencil, you can add a few details, for example, hairy hands, by drawing several straight horizontal lines. And, of course, the finished drawing should be painted.
How to draw a viking ship
The Viking warships were called Drakkars, and drawing one of them is pretty easy. First, with two curved lines, we depict the lower part and add a nasal figure to it.
With two vertical stripes we depict the mast, we bring two horizontal lines to it from above and below, which we connect on the sides with two arcs to make a sail. We apply additional stripes to it.
Also, draw a line from the mast to the bow, similar to the back of the ship, but this time the sail should partially hide it.
Draw a small paddle behind the drakkar and a series of round shields. Add stripes to the boat, creating the texture of the ship. We also draw details on the shields and nasal figure. We erase excess elements and colorize. The drawing is ready.
