Everyone enjoys homemade cakes, but you can’t always find enough time for it. But the recipe for bagels with jam is always quick, economical, and requires minimal time and effort. And if you take into account that the finished baked goods turn out to be very tasty, then you can ask yourself: "Is it worth baking something else at all?" Even a child can cope with the preparation of bagels, because there is nothing complicated in the proposed recipes.
"Fingers" with jam
This version of sandwiches with jam is one of the best, since the ingredients are publicly available, the cooking process is nowhere simpler, and the taste is so stunning that you fall in love with it the first time. How to cook these wonderful bagels?
Melt 200 grams of margarine in a steam bath and mix with the same amount of sour cream. Then, in a separate bowl, mix 400 grams of flour and 1 teaspoon of soda (without a slide), combine the flour mixture with sour cream and knead the dough. Try not to knead it for a long time, because this is shortbread dough, and it categorically does not like this process. Wrap a wad of dough in polyethylene and leave for an hour in a cool place, preferably in the refrigerator.
Shaping and baking
In order to give the shape of a bagel with jam to the liver, it is necessary to roll out the dough with a layer no more than 3 mm thick and cut into small elongated triangles. On the wide edge of each piece, put a little thick jam and roll towards the narrow edge: you get a nice bagel. Put the resulting cookies on a dry baking sheet and bake in the oven until soft golden. The temperature regime of the oven is 200 degrees. Sprinkle finished products still warm with plenty of icing sugar. They go well with hot cocoa.
Another test option
This method of making jam bagels is just as simple, but the finished product tastes completely different due to the presence of eggs in the dough.
To prepare it, mix 4 eggs and a glass of milk, beat with a whisk or a mixer until light foam, pour 200 grams of butter melted in a steam bath. Pour 400 grams of granulated sugar and mix thoroughly. Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and the same amount of soda to the dough. Stir constantly, add 600 grams of flour. Knead the dough and let it lie down for half an hour under a napkin in a warm place. Then form bagels of a small form, as indicated in the recipe above, and bake in the oven at a temperature of 200 degrees, trying not to overexpose them too much, otherwise they will not be as soft as expected. Roll the finished products in cocoa powder, which will give the liver an interesting look and a light chocolate aftertaste.
Yeast Dough Bagels
In fact, this is a bun, formed in a special way, so the yeast bagels with jam are prepared from the same dough, which is usually kneaded for buns and pies.
The simplest set of products for the test looks like this:
- 0.5 liters of milk or fermented baked milk;
- 50 grams of raw pressed yeast;
- 6 tablespoons of butter and sugar;
- a generous pinch of salt;
- vanillin for flavoring the dough (to taste);
- one kilogram of flour (maybe a little less).
Step cooking
The dough is kneaded in a random manner: heat the milk to a temperature of 40 degrees, dissolve salt and sugar in it, as well as yeast. Wait until the mass begins to bubble (about 10 minutes) and then pour in half a serving of flour mixed with vanilla. Mix thoroughly and continue kneading the dough, adding flour in small portions. Grease the table with oil and knead the dough actively for 10 minutes, achieving plasticity and smoothness. Next, put a lump of dough in a deep dish, cover with a towel and leave it warm so that the dough comes up. When the lump doubles, you can start forming bagels.

To do this, roll out the dough into a 5 mm thick layer and cut into elongated triangles (about 10-15 cm long). Put jam on a wide edge, wrap the corners inward (so that the filling does not leak during baking) and roll the layer into a bagel. Spread them on a baking sheet, greased with oil, slightly bending the edges to the center to make a semicircle. When all the jam bagels have been formed, leave them to stand in a warm place: they should increase in size due to the active work of the yeast. Then, using a silicone brush, grease the surface of the products with a beaten egg and bake at a temperature of 220 degrees in the oven until cooked.
Microwave Puff Pastry
When there is absolutely no time for lengthy preparations, and the family earnestly desires home-made baking, you can make a “knight's move”: bake bagels in a microwave oven from ready-made puff pastry. This will require only three ingredients:
- 400 grams of puff pastry;
- thick jam, preferably apple or plum;
- powdered sugar for sprinkling ready-made bagels with jam.
In the photo, this bakery looks amazing, resembling mini croissants, in fact, they are. Thaw the dough on a table, roll it no thicker than 2 millimeters (baking will be much tastier) and cut into long elongated triangles, a width of no more than 8 centimeters. Put a lump of jam on the edge, wrap the corners inward to each other and, starting from the wide edge, roll the triangle into a roll, forming a neat bagel. Put them on a dry baking sheet and sprinkle generously with cold water, so that when baking, the dough becomes as crispy and peels better.
Bake in the microwave for 1.5-2 minutes at a power of 600 watts and sprinkle with powdered sugar mixed with vanilla or cinnamon while still hot. The whole cooking process takes no more than 20 minutes, which is truly a record for such a dish. Satisfied households will applaud while standing!
Cottage cheese
But the recipe (with photo) of bagels with jam from the curd dough will appeal to lovers of soft pastries. The dough is so tender and tasty that you wonder how much cottage cheese can be universal. What is needed for this:
- 400 grams of cottage cheese and flour;
- two eggs;
- 150 grams of sugar;
- 1/2 teaspoon of soda and vanilla sugar;
- 220 grams of butter or margarine of good quality.
How to cook?
To make it easier to cook the dough, you need to leave the cottage cheese and butter in a warm room for a couple of hours - they will become soft and will easily yield. Using a blender, mix the butter and cottage cheese into a uniform mass, add sugar and eggs, as well as vanilla. Mix thoroughly and combine with flour pre-mixed with soda. Knead soft, loose dough, which should be left under the towel for 40 minutes: it should ripen. Next, roll out the dough into a 5 mm thick layer and cut circles using a regular plate. Then we form bagels with jam: we cut each circle into 6-8 segments from the center to the edge and put a little jam on the wide edge. It must be thick, otherwise when baking, it risks leaking and spoiling the appearance of the baking.

We turn the bagels and place them on the baking sheet at a certain distance from each other, because the dough during baking will almost double in size. Bake in the oven until rosy at 190 degrees. Ready bagels, if desired, can be sprinkled with powdered sugar or covered with chocolate icing. Allow them to cool slightly and you can serve tea to household members.
In conclusion, you can scatter many times in praises about the taste of baked bagels according to any recipe, but as the famous proverb says: “It is better to see once (in this case, try) than to hear many times.”
