french pie

Sometimes I want a little exotic, so one of the next weekend I decided to bake a French pie. I looked through several magazines with recipes, looked at a couple of sites and highlighted a couple of recipes that I will share with you. It turned out that the French indulge in pastries, for some reason I thought that they cook salads more, but I was deeply mistaken. Their pies are delicious.

1) French cheese and onion pie. In order to prepare the dough, we need 2 cups of flour, half a packet of butter, 100 grams of sour cream, slaked soda or baking powder. Butter should be solidified, rub it on a coarse grater, add sour cream, soda or baking powder, mix everything, then add flour and knead a cool elastic dough. Note that we do not put salt in the dough, as the filling compensates for the lack of salt in the dough. Put in the refrigerator for half an hour.

For the filling, we need the following products: 200 grams of hard cheese (I prefer Mozzarella cheese, it does not bite when melted like some other cheeses), two large onions, 2 eggs, a couple of spoons of sour cream and salt to taste. We rub the cheese on a strong grater, beat the eggs with salt, combine. Finely chop the onion and also combine with the cheese mass.

We take out the dough from the refrigerator, roll out the baking dish in size, lay the dough layer, leave the sides. Then evenly distribute the filling and bake a French pie preheated oven. Let the finished cake cool, cut and serve. This way you can bring France a little closer.

It should be noted that on the basis of this filling you can experiment, for example, I added a little ham. You can use regular sausage or boiled chicken. Surely a very satisfying and tasty pie will turn out .

2) Sweet cakes are very tasty from the French. Therefore, I propose a French pie with apples. We need 5 medium sweet and sour apples, 1 lemon, 150 grams of butter, half a glass of milk, one and a half glasses of granulated sugar, a glass of premium flour, 4 eggs and salt.

First, let's take a test. Beat butter, sugar and eggs, add salt, mix everything. We introduce flour in small portions to avoid the formation of lumps. We put the finished dough into a baking dish and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes. Next, bake the cake in a preheated oven. To prevent the dough from sticking to the walls of the mold, I recommend laying out special baking paper. She helps out a lot.

While our cakes are baking, we will do the filling. I thoroughly wash the apples, peel them and remove the middle. Cut into slices and fry in vegetable oil until a crispy crust appears. We take out the cake, quickly put the fried apple slices on it and send it back to the oven for 6-7 minutes. Let the finished cake cool, cut it into portions, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve as a dessert. Here is such an amazing French pie turned out. Such a pie is not a shame to serve guests as a dessert or a simple treat.

French pies are famous not only in the most amazing France, but also around the world. To my great surprise, a French pie appeared on the menu of our local school for afternoon tea . As it turned out, the cook had an internship in France, and he really wanted to feed the Russian children with this cake. By the way, according to him, the pies in this country are basically all open - you can immediately see which filling the cake is made with, sweet or not. Once I decided to bake such a pie with cabbage filling, it turned out very tasty, although I had not imagined a pie with cabbage and without meat before. In general, it’s worth a try, you can give free rein to imagination and you will surely get your own, special cake with greetings from distant France!
