How to draw a birch for children on a computer and a pencil

Novice artists may not understand how to draw a birch. In fact, it is not so difficult if you know the basic techniques. When choosing a technique for depicting birch, one should take into account the age of the artist, the level of his skills.

Primitivism

This is one of the common ways to depict objects. Usually in this technique the most memorable quality of the subject is highlighted. For a birch, such is its white trunk with unique dark, almost black, stripes and spots. It is this feature that characterizes a tree that has become a symbol of Russia.

When painting with young children, they often use the method of primitivism. And since it’s easiest to draw a birch by highlighting its trunk, and simply crowning the crown with solid green, this is exactly what it looks like in children's drawings.

This method is easy to use, making pictures in computer technology, for cartoons, for example. Since sometimes you need to draw a birch without foliage, it is the trunk that will become the main hallmark of the tree.

You can do it this way:

1. We save a blank frame in JPEG.
2. Having opened the menu in the picture, select the “change” item.
3. We draw the function “brush” (medium thickness) in black color trunks. We draw the lines arbitrarily, with bends. No need to use the function of drawing straight lines.
   
4. Also, randomly with a brush, we impose dark transverse stripes and spots on the trunks. You can work by selecting the maximum stroke thickness.
   
5. Save the picture.

If desired, you can apply additional shadows from the trees in the snow.

Landscape painters often use only a simple pencil when working. To make them a drawing is sometimes even more difficult than paints. The master needs the skill of applying shadows to give objects volume.

And since not every beginner artist knows how to draw a birch with a pencil, it is worth considering the process in more detail.

1. First, a trunk with branches is depicted on paper. Below you must make an extension. These will be the roots. From this figure it is still impossible to understand what kind of tree will be the result.
   
2. Now you need to put the shadow on the trunk. A fine shading (with an inclination angle of about 30 degrees) without pressure is recommended along one contour line.
3. Allocate branches to the trunk with shadows. To do this, use strokes of medium dimming.
4. Branches that are further away from the viewer are completely covered with light gray. For those that are closer, just put a shadow on one side, emphasizing the volume.
5. In the middle of the trunk, you can draw vertical curved lines of arbitrary length. These will be the boundaries of bumps found on old birches.
6. Along one side of these lines impose an inclined hatching, highlighting the hollows on the trunk. A small depression is lighter and less pronounced. Area after line along the large hollow is shaded denser, pressing the pencil harder.
7. In the area near the roots their volume is shown by shadows.
8. Across the trunk and large branches impose spots. They are made different in brightness and shape.
   
9. From thick branches downward, winding lines are drawn. At the base, they rise up, then a smooth arcuate transition is depicted. These are small branches on which leaves grow. They hang down - this is one of the features of the tree.

Since the artist decided to draw a birch in the winter, then you can consider the drawing ready. Additionally, it is recommended to shade the shadow of the tree in the snow.

How to draw a summer birch in stages with a pencil

A tree with leaves is more difficult to portray. It is important to emphasize another feature of the tree: the transparency and lightness of the crown. No wonder poets compare birch foliage with lace.

Since the tree is far enough away, there is no need to draw the shape of each leaf. Here the master can use small ovals. Arrange them on the branches arbitrarily, but given the direction. The shape of the crown branches resemble grapes.

This is the case for all thin branches. But some branches with foliage are located in the background, behind large ones.

Still, quite large voids remained in the crown. In them you can arrange a "cloud" of ovals. Here the master will need a sense of proportion. Do not fill the entire upper part of the tree with leaves tightly - there should be some gaps in the crown.

The drawing is almost ready. You can add it with grass, small flowers, flying insects and insert into the frame.
