- freshly picked stems of rhubarb - 1 kg;

They must be washed well in warm water, cut off the ends, and then cleaned of the upper hard film. After this, rhubarb is required to be chopped into pieces no larger than one and a half centimeters.
Syrup preparation process
Before you cook the rhubarb compote , you need to prepare sweet syrup for it. Thus, you need to take a large metal pan, pour in exactly 4 liters of drinking purified water, and then pour in granulated sugar. It is worth noting that the compote of rhubarb, the recipe of which involves the use of 1 glass of sugar, is quite acidic. In this regard, if you prefer to drink more sugary drinks, then the amount of this loose product is better to increase one and a half or two times.
The resulting liquid must be brought to a boil over high heat, and then boiled for no more than 2 minutes.

During this time, the drink will slightly cool, and will also absorb all the taste and nutrients of the added ingredients.
The final stage in the preparation
When the rhubarb drink with lemon slices becomes warm, it should be filtered through a sieve or gauze in a carafe, and then put in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
