Jam pies as decoration of any festive table

Jam pies, being an extraordinary meal, have been cooked in Russia for a very long time. It is pies as an independent dish of Russian cuisine that have survived to our time, not succumbing to foreign influence.

The word "pie", derived from the word "feast", indicates that in ancient Russian times, not a single feast was complete without pies. And at that time, this dish was prepared only for a celebration or celebration.

Jam pies, for example, were an independent dish, and many types of savory pies were served as snacks for various main dishes, such as soup, cabbage soup and pickle.

Nowadays, for the preparation of pies, mainly wheat flour is used, and initially the pies were made mainly from rye flour, to which later a little lower grade wheat flour was added, and eventually, premium wheat flour. It was such a mixture of different grades of flour that gave the pies a special, unique taste.

The invariable popularity of pies was influenced not only by high palatability, but also by their nutritional value. Everyone loves cakes. Be it sweet tea cakes or cakes as a snack to something, or cakes as an independent dish.

We suggest trying a fairly simple and relatively quick way to make jam pies. To do this, you will need to prepare a mixture of two glasses of flour, one glass of sugar and strong tea leaves. Add 2 tablespoons of refined vegetable oil, a teaspoon of soda, slaked with vinegar, and half a teaspoon of salt to this.

All must be thoroughly mixed until smooth. Bake at a temperature not exceeding 220 degrees in a greased form or margarine.

Cut the finished cake into cakes, which are coated with any jam.

Rice and egg pies are quite popular. For their preparation, 500 ml of cow's milk, 4 chicken eggs, 600 grams of flour and 300 grams of rice are required. As well as sunflower (20 ml) and cream (50 grams) butter, 15 grams of yeast, 65 grams of sugar and 15 grams of salt.

Hand grind the yeast with flour until a uniform crumb is formed. Pour, stirring, warm milk, vegetable oil with yolks. Add butter (pre-melted), salt and sugar. Mix everything thoroughly (first with a mixer, then with your hands).

Place the dough in a high saucepan and let stand for 3 hours, covered with two kitchen towels. Put the dough on a table sprinkled with a thin layer of flour, separate the pieces and shape the cakes.

For the filling, mix pre-cooked rice with boiled eggs, cut into cubes.

Wrap the filling in cakes and form pies. Put them on a baking sheet, a little sprinkled with flour, and on top grease the pies with a beaten egg. Bake at 180 degrees in the oven.

As a dessert for tea, you can bake not only jam pies, but also many others. For example, berry pies.

To prepare them, take 500 grams of flour, 160 grams of margarine, 4 yolks, half a glass of milk and 30 grams of yeast. Also, two tablespoons of sugar, half a cup of fat sour cream, to the taste of vanillin and 500 grams of berries. From these ingredients you can cook very tasty, fragrant and at the same time quite beautiful and unusual open pies with berries that will decorate your dining table.

So, chop margarine with flour, adding yeast diluted in advance in warm milk and mashed yolks with vanilla and sugar. Knead lush dough on sour cream. Roll out the cake, put it on the parchment and smear it with protein. Lay the berries on top and place the cake in a warm place for an hour. Bake for 45 minutes in the oven at a temperature of about 220 degrees. Sprinkle the baked cake with powdered sugar.
