On June 20 last year, a picture was found at Alexey Navalny’s house with which a billboard appeared on Kutuzovsky Prospekt in Moscow shortly before. Sergey Sotov is the author of the picture “Bad Good Man”.
One of the versions of the investigation was that Navalny stole a picture of Sotov in one of the streets of Vladimir, where its author hung his paintings. However, Navalny himself claimed that he did not steal the picture, since he was presented with his birthday by Georgy Alburov, an employee of the investigation department of the Anti-Corruption Foundation . Navalny said that it was his colleagues who should carry out a search, since he was completely not involved in the commission of the crime.
It is important that Navalny is a political, as well as a public figure in Russia, the leader of the Progress party. A lot of criminal cases are connected with his name, and at the time of the seizure of the picture he was under house arrest.

It is worth saying that on June 19 last year, a video appeared on the network in which Sergei Sotov reports that his paintings are often abducted. The artist shares that he has repeatedly noticed that his work disappears from his fence, on which he hangs his work. The author says that he calmly reacts to such incidents: if someone takes the paintings, they may have hooked this person. However, Sotov does not exclude that many are simply hooligans. Sergei was asked the question of why he did not go to the police, to which the author of the picture answered that he did not want to spend his time searching for his works.
Later, a version appeared that Arthur Omarov, whose people interviewed the author of the picture, prompted Sotov to change his mind. This assumption is based on the fact that a search of Navalny’s house was carried out the day after the interview.
Later, Sergei wrote a statement to Navalny, who, in his opinion, was the kidnapper of “Bad Good Man.” However, the video recorded the day before could cause the closure of the criminal case brought against Navalny.
The picture “Bad Good Man” has become quite famous, and many people know her well and remember it precisely thanks to the criminal case opened as a result of her abduction from the author.
Theft Court
On July 1, Navalny was taken to the building of the Investigative Committee, but we can say that the conversation did not take place, as the politician refused to testify against himself. It is important that Navalny claimed that he was innocent, and his accusation was just a provocation, which was connected with his activities.
The department said that for the author, the damage from the theft of his work is quite large, serious and significant, as a result of which the criminal case was qualified precisely as “the theft causing significant damage to the citizen”.
The picture “Bad good man” caused a criminal case against the politician Navalny, as well as other legal proceedings.
It is worth noting that later very interesting information became known: Alexei Navalny, before stealing the picture of Sotov, published it on his blog and said that he really liked it. A short time after the theft of the “Bad Good Man”, the politician said that his colleagues presented the “best” holiday gift.

In addition to the fact that the painting “Bad Good Man” disappeared, the artist Sergey did not find two more paintings. As you know, all the works of art by Sotov disappeared from an impromptu street exhibition. Apparently, someone really liked the work of the artist Sotov.

As noted earlier, Alex published a picture of Sotov on his blog and stated that he liked it very much. However, in court, Navalny said: the picture is not so good, since such creativity cannot be hung at home on the wall.

On the fact of her theft, a criminal case was opened against the politician Alexei Navalny, but soon circumstances became known that justified the “thief”.
