Riboxin, instructions for indications, dosage, side effects and contraindications

Riboxin is available in the form of tablets or an intravenous solution. The active substance of the drug is inosine, which is part of the group of pharmaceuticals that normalize myocardial metabolism, reduce tissue hypoxia.

"Riboxin", the instruction indicates, eliminates arrhythmia, enhances metabolic processes in the myocardium, improves oxygen circulation in the body. Inosine regulates the energy balance of the myocardium, restores coronary circulation, prevents complications after intraoperative renal ischemia. "Riboxin" is involved in the absorption of glucose, which can affect metabolic processes during hypoxia, even in conditions of deficiency of adenosine triphosphate.

"Riboxin," the instruction indicates, activates the action of pyruvic acid, thereby ensuring tissue respiration; stimulates the synthesis of nucleotides. The drug enhances the work of some enzymes that are part of the Krebs cycle. Inosine penetrates the cells, increases the intensity of contractions of the heart muscle, helps to relax the myocardium during diastolic function, as a result, the volume of flowing blood increases.

The drug reduces the formation of platelets, increases the regenerative ability of tissues, for example, the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines, myocardium.

The drug is intended for the complex treatment of adults with coronary heart disease, in the rehabilitation period after myocardial infarction, with cardiac arrhythmias caused by the use of cardiac glycosides.

Inosine is prescribed for many liver diseases: hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty degeneration of the liver (as a result of abuse of alcohol, drugs); with urocoproporphyria.

The drug in tablets is recommended for adults to take before meals.

The daily dose is selected from 0.6 g to 2.4 g. The daily dose is gradually increased from 0.6 g with tolerance on the second or third day to the recommended 1.2 g, and if necessary, established by the attending physician, to 2.4 g, dividing it into three doses.

The duration of the course depends on the nature of the testimony, ranging from 4 weeks to 1.5, or even 3 months.

With urocoproporphyria, a daily dose of 0.8 g is prescribed, 200 mg of inosine is taken 4 times. The medicine "Riboxin" is taken for 1 to 3 months.

With intravenous administration by a jet or drop method, the initial dose is selected 200 mg once, then increased to 400 mg, divided into 1-2 droppers per day. The doctor sets the course of treatment individually, depending on the condition of the patient.

In rare cases, allergic reactions have been observed, which can manifest themselves in hives, itching, and flushing of the skin. Negative phenomena disappear after discontinuation of the drug.

Inosine preparations should not be prescribed to people with hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug, with gout and hyperuricemia.

There are contraindications to the use of "Riboxin" in patients suffering from fructose intolerance, with a syndrome of impaired absorption of glucose and / or galactose, with a deficiency in the body of sucrose and / or isomaltase.

Inosine treatment of patients with renal failure or diabetes mellitus is carried out only under the supervision of a doctor, prescribing medication requires caution.

The effect of the drug on the development of the fetus in pregnant women has not been established, therefore treatment with Riboxinum during pregnancy is contraindicated. The safety of the use of inosine by women who are breast-feeding babies has not been established. Therefore, when prescribing "Riboxin" to a nursing mother, it is recommended to abandon breastfeeding.
