The throat is one of the most important organs of the digestive and respiratory system. Not only food passes through the throat, but also air inhaled by a person. In this case, glands and mucous membranes are at increased risk of inflammation.
Sore throat, the causes of which we will try to consider in this article, is familiar to everyone. As a rule, it occurs due to acute inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa. In the vast majority of cases, such pain is easily treatable. I must say that it alone is not a disease, but a consequence of infection or damage to the throat mucosa. By the way, the mucous membrane can easily be damaged when eating hot or too hard food. Therefore, they say that you need to eat slowly, carefully.
So, sore throat, the causes of its occurrence can be divided into two main types:
- the harmful effects of infection and germs affecting the pharynx,
- the irritating effect of the environment, which includes excessive smoking, poor ecology, minor throat injuries, and poor hygiene.
Sore throat in children most often occurs due to pharyngitis. This is what inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa is called. As a rule, pharyngitis is a viral disease that makes itself felt with severe and unpleasant sore throats, tickling, a slight cough and a slight increase in temperature.
In addition, the throat hurts with angina, i.e. with lesions of the tonsils. When they have a bright red color and are enlarged, this means that a person has contracted a sore throat.
Sometimes a sore throat, the causes of which are not always unambiguous, is accompanied by a sharp change in voice, so much so that a person simply does not recognize his voice. So laryngitis manifests itself, which is an inflammation of the vocal cords.
Sometimes a sore throat is accompanied by otitis media and a runny nose. It is extremely rare, but it happens that a sharply sore throat can deprive a person of sleep, peace and even lead to loss of appetite, because swollen food makes it too painful to swallow.
In some cases, a sore throat is constantly present, and it usually appears itself every morning, and gradually disappears during the day. However, residual muffled pain remains. The next morning, it starts all over again. The appearance of such pain can only be explained by the fact that, most likely, there is some kind of non-localized focus of infection in the body.
As a rule, chronic tonsillitis can be the cause of such pain. This disease is difficult to treat not only at home, but even in clinics. Tonsillitis is generally very difficult to treat. Therefore, the main thing in the process of treating such a disease is a general increase and strengthening of immunity, as well as cleansing the tonsils from bacterial plaque and eliminating the purulent focus.
In addition to chronic tonsillitis, acute sinusitis, chronic pharyngitis, acute or chronic gastritis, and even carious teeth can lead to constant sore throats.
It turns out how insidious a sore throat happens, the causes of which were discussed above. If we talk about reducing the pain symptom, then rinsing the throat with a warm solution of kitchen salt very well helps. For this alternative method of treating sore throat in equal proportions, it is necessary to mix soda, salt. Then drip a few drops of iodine into them and dissolve in a hundred milliliters of warm water. The resulting solution must be gargled several times a day. Alternatively, you can dissolve a tablet of aspirin or furacilin in water (take half a glass of liquid) and gargle with the resulting solution several times a day. Traditional medicine, coupled with traditional medicine, may very well help to quickly get rid of a sore throat.
