The pharmaceutical agent "Benzyl benzoate" refers to the instructions for use in the clinical and pharmacological group of anti-scab medication.

The medication in question is available in the form of a gel, ointment or emulsion for external use.

This drug has a detrimental effect on scabies mites and all types of lice (the death of the first occurs after ten to thirty minutes, the second after two to five hours). The drug actively penetrates the chitinous integument of parasites and accumulates in their bodies in toxic volumes. As a result of this, both larvae and mature individuals die (the medication does not affect eggs).

The drug "Benzyl benzoate" instructions are prescribed for use to get rid of scabies (in the form of an emulsion or ointment). Currently not recommended, however, it was previously used for head lice and pubic pediculosis (ointment).

The drug in question is not prescribed for patients with hypersensitivity, as well as during the period of expectation of the child and breastfeeding. The drug is also contraindicated in small patients who have not reached the age of three.

To prepare it, 20 grams of green soap should be dissolved in 780 milliliters of boiled water (regular shampoo is also suitable) and two hundred milliliters of medication. The above recipe is suitable for treating adults. For small patients, the proportions are slightly different: 880 milliliters of water, 20 grams of soap / shampoo and one hundred milliliters of benzyl benzoate.

The prepared emulsion retains its therapeutic qualities for seven days after its preparation. However, it is necessary to shake it thoroughly before use. The application procedure is as follows: they wipe the skin with a gauze swab soaked in a therapeutic agent for ten minutes two days in a row. After the treatment, the patient is recommended to change all underwear and bedding.

This manifestation of the action of the drug should not be feared, since it is a consequence of the reaction of the skin to killed parasites and their metabolic products.
