The causes of nosebleeds are hidden deep in the human body. Very often, this unpleasant symptom appears as a result of injuries to the nose and its cavity, some blood diseases, vascular changes with influenza, typhoid fever and malaria.
Causes of nosebleeds are associated with damage to the vessels located in the anterior nasal septum. Typically, such bleeding begins suddenly, for no apparent reason, and in most cases stops without assistance.
Be that as it may, but with such things every person has encountered at least once in a lifetime. True, if for some people the causes of nosebleeds can be not very serious and have a “local” effect, then for other people they can become a real problem.
Causes of nosebleeds in children can be local and common. And this is very important to understand if the child often picks his nose or has an altered nasal mucosa. Very often, blood from the nose in children can go due to excessive dryness of the air in the room. In this case, the dried up mucous membrane of the nose begins to gradually fuse with the walls of the blood vessels, as a result of which the integrity of the latter is violated. Therefore, a high probability of rupture of blood vessels in the nasal cavity.
As a matter of fact, nosebleeds in adults are approximately similar to the same problems in children, therefore, the provision of first aid is the same. So, first of all, the human body should be given a semi-sitting position and tilt the victim’s head a little forward. After that, it is necessary to free from the thickened blood that part of the nose from which bleeding was observed, then slightly squeeze the nose wing with your fingers for a short time to prevent the flow of blood. Often this is the treatment of nosebleeds.
In some cases, this measure may be insufficient, so the bleeding area should be pressed with a cotton swab dipped in hydrogen peroxide. If this method also turns out to be ineffective, then local anesthesia of the nasal mucosa should be carried out with a 3% decaine solution and cauterize the problem area with silver nitrate or electrocautery.
Meanwhile, some causes of nosebleeds frighten not only the patients themselves, but also the health workers, who make them go to bed and throw their heads back. As a rule, in such cases, the blood does not exit through the nostrils and begins to create the false impression that the bleeding has stopped. Although in most cases, bleeding is deceiving, and a person often simply swallows flowing blood.
Sometimes you even have to turn to traditional medicine to stop blood flow from the nose. As a rule, in these cases, it is recommended to use ointments prepared from those plants that have a hemostatic effect. The plant must first be dried, ground to a powdery mass and mixed in a ratio of 1: 4 with petroleum jelly, lard or with vegetable oil.
An example is an ointment from calamus roots. A teaspoon of finely chopped roots of this plant should be mixed with 50 ml of lanolin or petroleum jelly. Lubricate the nasal mucosa with the resulting mass a couple of times a day.
However, folk remedies are in no way able to replace fully professional medical care. Therefore, if necessary, you should immediately contact a specialist - ENT doctor. After all, proper treatment is able to correct all identified factors, which will allow the patient to continue a normal lifestyle. In general, in some cases, you may need to consult not only an ENT specialist, but also a therapist, hematologist, rheumatologist and endocrinologist.
