"The Byzantine Princess" is the brainchild of Spanish cinema, and directed such a controversial masterpiece in 2006, directed by Vicente Aranda. The plot is written personally by the director on the themes of the famous medieval novel "Tyrant White", authored by Joanot Marturel. Despite the fact that part of the filming of the film took place in Spain, and a number of Spanish actors take part in it, the film was shot in British language.
The premiere of the painting took place on March 30, 2006 in romantic Valencia. The film “Byzantine Princess”, whose trailer is rather piquant, immediately became a
bone of contention between romantically-minded film adherents and ardent lovers of historical authenticity. On April 7, 2006, the film "Byzantine Princess" was shown in 264 movie theaters in Spain. Also this film took part in the
Cannes Film Festival. And with every show, the atmosphere around him became more aggressive.
The plot of the film "Byzantine Princess"
According to the plot of the film “The Byzantine Princess”, the celebrated Aragonese commander Tyrant, at the head of his own, not very large, although seasoned in the fights unit, comes to the Byzantine court, which is immersed in mourning over the death of the only son of the ruler in a battle with the Turks. The emperor goes out of the gate to directly meet Tyrant and offer him the post of commander in chief. Knowing that the ruler is old and sick, maids of honor want to embrace Tyrant’s daughter of the ruler - the magnificent Carmensina.
And as soon as night falls, they decide to take him to the princess’s chambers. But, strangely enough, the Tyrant, who is so bravely showing himself in battle, does not dare to seize the royal person in love with him. In this movie, the Byzantine Princess ceases to be languid. The plot is simply teeming with serious passions and palace intrigues.
The farther into the forest, the maids of honor are more vicious
One of the maids of honor, burning with passion for the main character, conceived an intrigue, pursuing one single goal - to push the princess away from him and subsequently marry her a young Turkish sultan. But another servant takes Tyrant to Carmesina’s bedroom, however, the awakened princess raises a cry. The tyrant flees immediately, going down the rope, but its length is insufficient, and the hero is forced to jump. As a result, the Tyrant jumping from a great height injures his leg. The next day, in order to hide the consequences of his own act, he imitates a fall from a horse, and ... cripples his second leg, thus turning out to be bedridden (God marks an assault!). At that time, the empress was approaching the squire Hippolytus. The insidious guy confesses her love and soon finds herself in her bed, spending days and nights there.
And away we go ...
And the princess visits the tent of Tyrant, maids of honor and fighters of the hero assist them in the realization of desire (intimacy). Carmesina talks about what happened to the ambassador, of course, the war begins. In the main battle, Tyrant kills the Turkish Sultan, however, returning, he dies, unable to bear the attacks of pain. Carmesine is languishing with grief; the Aragonese are leaving Byzantium. And the Hippolytus who marries the Empress receives the crown of Byzantium.
