This was the last film and the last main role of one of the most talented Russian actors - Andrei Panin. He passed away without even having time to finish it. Nevertheless, the military drama "Major Sokolov's Heterosexuals" (actors managed to form a wonderful team) was completed until the end, and in several episodes Panin's understudy was shot. This film was dedicated to the memory of the actor.
Story line. Battle for the motherland
Autumn of 1939. The Second World War begins. In Crimea, they meet the newly arrived major of state security Sokolov. The main goal of this strong and brave man is to find the agents of one organization that opposed the Soviets. The ROVS counterintelligence is managed by Captain Semenov, who carries the pseudonym “Cross”.
Sokolov and Semenov are very old enemies. As early as 1917, they, Russian officers, ended up in a war against one another. Men are well aware of each other and are aware of the appearance of each of them. More than once they had the opportunity to kill each other, but each of them was “rooting” for the death of the system, of which the enemy was a representative. They, like gambling chess players, begin a new, rather difficult game, in which the probability of victory is equal for both. And each of them is ready in advance to sacrifice any of the figures, even by himself, because the homeland will be the gain. True, everyone understands this in their own way.

With the girls, the group includes the exile herself - Maria Kovalevskaya (her task is to teach them languages), the former Bolshoi ballerina Anna Leopoldovna (she will teach them good manners) and the doctor Margarita Sergeevna. Captain Klyuyev must ensure the security of the group.
At the training base, where the team will be located, the girls will learn the possibilities of hand-to-hand combat, the intricacies of psychology, master firearms, skill and seduction techniques. That's why the wards of the major will be called getters ...
It’s scary to realize, but it is they, these fragile, beautiful, but very brave and courageous girls, who will very soon meet in a mortal battle an insidious and evil enemy who is capable of anything to only achieve his goal.
Interesting movie facts
Due to the unexpected passing away of the actor, who played the main role, during the work on the mini-series I had to make some adjustments to the shooting process. Screenwriter Ilya Tilkin hastily changed the ending of the film.
There are episodes in the film where the role of Major Sokolov was already played by Panin's understudy. Because at the time when these episodes were filmed, the actor was no longer among the living. Actors of the series “Geters of Major Sokolov” helped the understudy to get comfortable in such a difficult moral situation. If you don’t know, then it’s impossible to guess that it wasn’t Panin who played.
According to the script, the heroine Tatyana Lyutaeva (the role is “Countess”) has a daughter, Lyusya. In the first series of the series was a heroine who appears on the screen for a very short time. This is Edith. She dies at the end of the episode. The girl was played by the real daughter of Lutaeva - Agnia Ditkovskite.

Many viewers were expecting the release of this movie novel - “The Geters of Major Sokolov”. The actors employed in it played like the last time. For the leading actor, his character was really the last. The unique, brilliant and very talented actor Andrei Panin passed away three and a half years ago. There will be no more vivid roles in the cinema, he will not come to TV shows as a guest ... Involuntarily, the role of a major became the actor's farewell to the audience. The actors of the film “Heter of Major Sokolov” unanimously supported the decision that this picture would be dedicated to him.
There is one more moment in this picture, catching on the soul. Just one phrase: "You are not here to become better, you are here to become different, completely different ...". And this is a characteristic of the whole plot. Perhaps a little tough, but true. And these words were not intended for persistent and strong soldiers of the Soviet army, but for fragile girls, for whom fate was not very welcoming and they had to become getters. In ancient Greece, getters were not only beautiful in appearance, they had a good education. And in this situation, Major Sokolov, gathering a team, tries to take into account everything, so girls are taught manners, languages ​​and other wisdom.
You can, of course, cling to the fact that sometimes the insignia on the form did not coincide with the real ranks of the heroes. But this did not completely change the meaning of the picture.
Since the main part of the action takes place in Crimea, it remains to be amazed at the ability of the authors of the series to make a nondescript, grayish peninsula from a bright and sunny peninsula, just to match those distant years.
Very high quality picture was shot "Heter Major Sokolov." Actors made the audience cry and laugh. But is this not an indicator of success?
