This children's feature film, directed by the famous Roland Bykov, was seen by small viewers almost 50 years ago (it was released in 1970). It was called Attention Turtle! The actors involved in this picture were of different ages and with completely different work experience. But the result of the general work was so interesting that both children and adults continue to watch the film.
Storyline
In ordinary Soviet high school there is the usual 1 "B" class. And in this class there is a corner of wildlife where a cute rabbit named Pantik, a small hamster named Hamka and a cute turtle - Rocket live. The student 1 “B”, the first-grader Vova Vasiliev, is responsible for a small farm. All the guys are very fond of the turtle.
One fine day Vova was assigned to the Institute of Nutrition, and for a whole month all living creatures did not see her caring patron. At this time, other guys became acting Vasilyev - Vova Manukyan and Vova Didenko. But they approach their purpose quite peculiarly: to determine the endurance of the turtle, the boys begin to conduct various experiments on it.
So the movie began “Attention, turtle!”, Whose actors were not only serious adult artists, but also ordinary Moscow schoolchildren. The next step in their experiments is the following: they want to test the Rocket under the tracks of the tank. Fortunately, with the help of other first-graders and, of course, Vova Vasiliev, who ran away from the institute in a little girl’s dress, this check did not take place.
The birth of a masterpiece for children
To write a script for the film “Attention, turtle!”, Whose actors played an interesting story from the life of first-graders, attracted a magnificent duet of playwrights who, several years before, had come up with “Welcome ...”, Ilya Nusinova and Semyon Lungin. And he shot this comedy for viewers of various ages, the master of children's cinema Rolan Bykov. The events described in the film take place in the capital, but since all work on the film began with the advent of autumn, the entire crew left for Sochi, where at that time it was much warmer.
Roles for children and adults
The film "Attention, turtle!" stars of Soviet cinema - Rina Zelenaya, Aleksey Batalov, Zoya Fedorova, Irina Azer paid their attention. Even Bykov himself went to the set as an actor, playing two unexpected roles - grandfather Didenko and grandmother Manukyan.
Ordinary Soviet schoolchildren became pupils of 1 “B”: Vova Vasilyeva was played by Alyosha Ershov, Vova Manukyan by Misha Martirosyan, Vova Vy Didenko by Andrei Samotolkin.
By the way, when they were testing, one of the children's roles came to try the famous Russian actor Oleg Menshikov today. But then they did not approve him: Bykov did not agree to his candidacy, saying that the boy was too cheerful, and he was unlikely to ever become a real artist.
“Sochi has warm nights ...”
So, the movie "Attention, turtle!" filmed in the city of Sochi. For young artists, shooting in one of the most beautiful cities in Russia was more likely an interesting game than labor or even creative torment. Bykov never made the kids memorize their roles. He simply lucidly explained what would happen in the next episode. And yet, some of the scenes were quite difficult.
In one episode, boys and girls (by the way, Galya Budanova played the role of Tanya Samokhina) “fought” with a naughty hose, dousing herself with water from head to toe. Schoolchildren were dressed in light dresses and shirts. Then on the screen you could see a sunny warm day, but in fact all this was filmed in October.
Another episode. We filmed a conversation between Manukyan and Didenko, which took place on a tree. Filming was at an initial stage, and Andryusha Samotolkin, playing Didenko, suddenly breaks down and falls from a tree. A huge scratch firmly “settled” on his stomach. The boy was very hurt, he even cried. But Bykov, having examined the “wound”, said with a smile that in no case should it be made up, the scratch is useful for filming. Samotolkin immediately stopped crying from these words, wiped away a tear, and ran to shoot further.

When on the set of the film “Attention, turtle!”, The actors for which were selected with particular care, the mothers of the young actors fussed, Bykov put up with them without saying a word to them. But when their dads came to the holiday on the occasion of the end of filming, he said the phrase that he was ready to hate them (dads). And it was not that Rolan Antonovich had a bad character. Just during the filming, he sincerely fell in love with schoolchildren, and to some extent felt like their father.
