Due to their amazing qualities, lingonberries are considered a forest king-berry. It is not only tasty and healthy, but also has medicinal properties, helping with many diseases. The most common lingonberry blanks are jam, compotes. You can also freeze the fruits or soak in the marinade. Any of these dishes can preserve the vitamins contained in the berry. This article proposes a recipe for “Lingonberry soaked” in two versions. The originality of the amazing workpiece is that it can be used as a flavoring seasoning for desserts and meat dishes.
Recipe: soaked lingonberry “Classical”
Fill Composition
- 1 liter of raw water;
- ½ tablespoon sugar;
- ½ full tsp salt.
Cooking
Sort ripe lingonberry berries , removing debris and spoiled fruits. Then wash the mass thoroughly, changing the water several times. Boil the fill (use the suggested proportions for its preparation) and cool to room temperature. In this recipe “Lingonberry soaked”, you can make changes by adding cinnamon, allspice or other seasonings to the water for the aroma. Pour the berries into a glass, enamelled container or wooden barrel. Pour them with marinade so that the whole lingonberry is covered with liquid. Cover the fruits with a flat plate or wooden circle, and on top with a piece of cloth. When canning in jars, you can immediately cover with twisting lids. Place soaked lingonberries in a cool place. Due to the fact that the berries contain bactericidal substances, there is no need to take care of washing the canvas - it will not mold and will not acidify. Such a workpiece can be stored for up to two years. So the classic lingonberry soaked is prepared. The recipe can be slightly modified by adding other ingredients. Recipe: Lingonberry soaked with apples
Structure
- 5 kg of fresh lingonberry;
- 1 kg of ripe apples of sour varieties;
- 4 l of raw water;
- 1 kg of granulated sugar;
- 1.5 full tsp cinnamon
- 5-6 medium clove stars;
- ½ tsp coarse salt.
Cooking
- Sort the berries and rinse thoroughly with cold water. After that, fold the mass into a colander for draining. It is advisable then to dry pour the lingonberries on the table, covered with paper napkins.
- Wash the apples. You can cut the bottom “tail” with a sharp knife. The fruits are used whole without cutting.
- Boil water with sugar, spices and salt. Cool the liquid.
- Place apples and lingonberries in wide ceramic (or clay) pots, alternating in layers. Pour the whole mass with a spicy solution.
- Cover the top of the container with a circle on which put a medium-heavy load so that the berries are completely immersed in the marinade.
- Place soaked lingonberries with apples in a cool place. After 2.5-3 weeks, you can take the first test. From berries, you can then prepare a spicy sauce for meat, and apples will be the original decoration of any dessert. Serve them very original on the table, topped with whipped cream and garnished with red tart berries.
