Kenny Chesney Biography

Kenneth Arnold Chesney was born March 26, 1968 in the family of David Chesney and Karen Chandler in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. His mother worked as a stylist, and his father worked as a teacher in elementary school. He has a younger sister, Jennifer Chandler.

Chesney spent most of his childhood in the small town where he was born. His parents divorced when he was still small. In his teens, Chesney moved with his mother and sister to Knoxville.

Although he loved to listen to bluegrass, rock and country rock from childhood, it was only in the middle of his second year as a business specialist at the University of East Tennessee that he showed a serious interest in making music. Having received the guitar as a Christmas present from his mother, he became attached to playing the instrument, picking up familiar tunes, composing his own songs and practicing for several hours a day. Within just a few months, he began playing in places near the campus, performing mostly cover versions of country songs such as George Jones and Hank Williams, Jr. He also played his own compositions, which he recorded and sold on cassettes at his performances.

When Chesney earned a bachelor's degree in advertising in 1990, he decided to pursue a musical career. In 1991, he moved to the capital of country music, Nashville, where he regularly performed in inconspicuous establishments. In search of great professional opportunities, he auditioned for a local music publishing company and received a songwriting contract in 1992. His skills led to a contract with Capricorn Records, for which he recorded his debut album In My Wildest Dreams (1994).

Soon after, Capricorn Records dissolved its country music division, and Chesney, who had already gained notable popularity both as a performer and songwriter, was quickly picked up by the BNA record label. His first album for this company, All I need to know (1995), is a mixture of love songs, ballads and funny melodies. His next album is lighter and more vibrant - Me and You (1996). It has been sold in quantities of more than 500,000 copies.

He has released many hit music albums:

  • In My Wildest Dreams (1994);
  • All I Need to Know (1995);
  • Me and You (1996-1997);
  • I Will Stand (1997-1998);
  • Everywhere We Go (1999);
  • No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems (2002โ€“2003), etc.

But their loyal fans know that it was a stormy romance and marriage, which for unknown reasons ended in divorce. But before Renee called their wedding โ€œthe biggest mistake of her life,โ€ these two were undoubtedly in love with each other.

There was a lot of noise around Kenny's personal life. Perhaps due to the fact that his short marriage was ridiculed in the media, he avoids talking about it.
