Martin Cove - American film and television actor, martial artist

Martin Cove, an actor in American film and television, is widely known for his character, John Creeze, a negative hero in the movie "The Karate Boy." The picture was continued, all three films were shot. The character fell in love with the audience, despite the fact that he was dishonorable in relations with his subordinates and not sufficiently correct with his students. Sometimes it even came to fights within the walls of the school.

Martin Cove: biography

The actor was born on March 6, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York's most populous area. In the big movie, Martin Cove made his debut in 1971, playing a cameo role in the movie "Little Killings." This was followed by several low-budget films with the participation of a novice actor, which went unnoticed at the box office.

In 1981, Matrin Cove took part in the creation of a police series called "Kagney and Lacy", where he played the role of detective Victor Isbeki. The character turned out to be reliable and convincing. The series withstood seven seasons, while confidently holding the first positions in the rating of public views.

Failure

In 1987, Martin Cove played a major role in the movie "Justice of Steel", playing John Steel. Then the actor was invited to the science fiction series “Exiled to Planet Earth,” where he played an alien named Jesse. Only thirteen episodes appeared on the screen, the rating of the film was depressingly low, and the project was closed. Martin Cove, whose films were mostly successful, was hard at failure. It didn’t come to depression, but creative decline was evident. The actor was helped to get back in shape by shooting the film "The Karate Boy-3," which just began during that difficult period.

"Karate guy"

One of the most notable roles played by Martin Cove is the character of John Creeze, the head of the martial arts school. Daniel, an ambitious young man, enters his studies. Met with pretty Eli Mills, he comes into conflict with her ex-boyfriend, Johnny, who practices karate and also attends John Creeze's school.

Johnny, with the support of his friends, brutally beats Daniel, and he seeks protection from a martial artist who lives nearby, Japanese Miyagi. The guy expects that Sensei will teach him the techniques of karate and other martial arts. However, the Japanese instead of training loads Daniel with housework, makes him paint the fence, wash the car, sweep the yard. It does not occur to the astonished student that hard work is part of training. Subsequently, the lessons of the Japanese come in handy to Daniel.

Gained experience, a student of Miyagi deals with his enemies and in fact casts doubt on the quality of martial arts training at the Kriz school. Rumors of fictitious activities instantly fly around. Enraged, John Crease vowed revenge on rival factions. He meets with his old friend Terry, and they make plans on how to punish Daniel and Miyagi.

Kagney and Lacy

Another prominent role in the career of Martin Cove was the character of police detective Viktor Isbeki. The series “Kagney and Lacy” gave the actor the opportunity to fully demonstrate their abilities.

A serial film shot in the genre of dramatic police procedure tells the story of two women working in the department for the disclosure of particularly serious crimes, Victor's colleagues. Both are independent in character, not one of them wants to listen to anyone and always remains unconvinced. This does not benefit the work process, and agents in skirts often receive comments from their management.

Viktor Isbeki, meanwhile, faithfully carries out his work, and sometimes grabs part of the duties of his negligent colleagues. Thus, it helps the department to stay up to date.
