Short storyline
The action of the series, released on domestic screens in 2008, takes place in the village of Konstantinovka. It is here that the pregnant girl Zhenya comes. With her appearance in a forgotten village of God, strange things begin. Many people believe that this place is cursed by the witch who lived here during the revolution. Zhenya's mother was seriously ill. Trying to find out the reason, the girl learns from her grandmother, who has earned the reputation of a healer, that the cause of the disease is an old and very serious sin. To help the mother, the daughter decides to take the blame on herself, even if she has to pay a high price for it.
Time passes and Zhenya notices strange abilities. Baba Zoya says that the reason is the old doll that burned the girl’s hands. This doll belonged to the same witch and contained her strength. Gradually, Zhenya's worldview and life begin to change. But the strangeness and evil around her do not cease for a minute. People in the village are afraid of what is happening and the fact that they live in the forest.
There are two storylines in the series: one of them tells about the life of the villagers, and the other tells about the events of the past.
