Donuts are a classic American pastry. Recipes for making dough and toppings can be completely different: with jam, chocolate, nuts, cream, raisins and other dried fruits. Which one you choose depends only on your tastes. Now I suggest you cook original, tender, light curd donuts.
They are made quite simply and quickly, but differ in their unique taste and will surprise all your loved ones. You can cook them in deep fat, and if you have a special silicone mold for donuts, you can bake in the oven.
For cooking, we need:
- half a kilogram of cottage cheese of medium fat content;
- four eggs;
- half a glass of sugar;
- about one large spoon of sour cream;
- two to three teaspoons of soda without a slide;
- vinegar;
- half a bag of baking powder (confectionery powder);
- two large spoons of vanilla sugar or essence;
- four medium glasses of flour.
Making donuts
Break the eggs into a deep bowl and use a mixer or manually knock them into a thick foam, then add sugar, a spoonful of sour cream and vanilla or essence. Cottage cheese for the filling is thoroughly ground. Although you can take a ready-made mass with dried fruits, such baked goods will taste even more tender. Next, a baking powder and three teaspoons of soda vinegar quenched are added.

Pre-beaten eggs with sugar are added to the curd. Sift the flour and pour it into our mixture. Then knead the tender (without lumps) dough. Please note that it should not be liquid or thick. It is better to add the flour gradually and look at the consistency, if necessary, add more or less than indicated in the recipe, because the amount may depend on the variety. If you want to diversify the curd donuts and give them new tastes, then you can put a small amount of cocoa powder or melted chocolate in the dough. Then mix thoroughly again. Next, the test should be given a little time to insist (approximately fifteen to twenty minutes). Curd donuts can be prepared in a standard familiar form, like bagels, or with balls. The first option is more convenient to shape with the help of special kitchen utensils, and for the second - small "balls" of approximately the same size are made from the finished dough.

If you prefer to deep-fry, then heat the butter in a deep cauldron. Do not put too many products at a time in the fryer so that they do not stick together. When the oil warms up well, start frying the donuts. As soon as they reach an even golden color, they are taken out with special tongs and laid out on a paper towel to remove excess fat. If you donβt like this kind of pastries, then curd donuts can be cooked in the oven. The dough is laid out in a special form and baked for about 15 to 20 minutes (until golden brown). Before serving, you need to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. It is best served with tea or coffee with fruit jam. Enjoy your meal!
