Biography
World-famous brush master Sergey Teplyakov was born in Moscow in an intelligent family of architect and pianist. Little Seryozha spent all his childhood in an atmosphere of art, which was facilitated by his constant studies in music with his mother and painting with his grandfather, Mikhail Taraev, an artist known throughout the Soviet Union. The grandfather, who at one time received the Ilya Repin Prize and the title of People's Artist of the USSR, immediately saw the boy’s innate talent for painting and insisted that Sergei Teplyakov be sent to the Stroganov Art Academy.
Teplyakova took a course in classical painting, where a young man studied the styles and techniques of depicting people, objects and states of various substances for several years, and also actively experimented with art materials, mastering paints, crayons, tempera.
The choice of Sergey Teplyakov's style was influenced by lengthy conversations with his grandfather, as well as with creative people who visited his parents' house. Teplyakov’s apartment constantly became a meeting place for the artistic and literary elite of that time, which, of course, formed a great taste for Sergey.
In 1998, Teplyakova was admitted to the Union of Artists of Russia.
Creative career
The paintings of the artist Sergei Teplyakov are of high quality and amazing realism, but the master for a long time was in no hurry to present his work to the public. For many years, Sergey worked in the workshop, improving the style and showing works only to the closest people, but later, at the insistence of the family and the recommendations of friends, he nevertheless began to export the most successful paintings to various shows, art festivals and exhibitions.
