In the late 90s, the Russian show business sharply outlined the trend of creating youth groups. "Solniks" few people were interested in from the producers, and groups of teenagers from several people were in demand by the audience. According to this principle, at the end of 1999 a group of "Girls" was formed, the composition of which included four pretty girls with pleasant voices.
Team members
Each Moscow producer on the threshold of a new era, inspired by the popularity of world-famous youth groups, sought to create his own, acting at least within the country. Some succeeded, others turned into one-day groups, recording a maximum of several tracks.
In 1999, the talented and respected Moscow composer and producer Igor Matvienko decided to implement the idea of creating a girl’s collective. Of the hundreds of applicants, he chose only four. This one was young, carefree and very funny girls with a nice appearance and good vocal skills. The collective received the name “Girls”.
Band hits
The quartet existed for a very short period and nevertheless, the audience managed to remember a few video works. The debut composition was called "I want to be a bird", was performed in a very cheerful manner. The group "Girls", the composition of which has changed only once since its inception, immediately received recognition from young people and became quite popular, although music critics did not take this collective seriously. And at the presentation of one of the prizes, the presenter Anatoly Anatolyevich announced them as the most non-serious group.
The next video was more serious, and the clip even entered the top ten songs according to Muz-TV. "Mother said" showed the girls romantic and vulnerable and was released in 2000.
For two years, the group "Girls", whose composition remained the same, performed at festivals and clubs. The girls worked actively in the studio and recorded their first album.
In 2003, the last video work of the team was released, but already as a trio - "And I am so beautiful today."
The departure of Irina Dubtsova
In 2001, the group left Irina Dubtsova. The producer decided not to look for a replacement for her. The group continued to function as a trio. Ira began a musical career in her native Volgograd, was a member of the youth group "Jam". He considers his participation in the Moscow group an important stage in his creative career. During this period, Ira mastered in Moscow, gained the necessary experience and gained the necessary connections for 2 years of work in the group.

As Dubtsova admitted, she went nowhere, just felt that she had outgrown the status of the group. For some time Ira worked at a studio with friends as an advertising manager and backing vocalist. In parallel, she wrote songs, and many of them performed already famous stars.
Her former companions in the group "Girls", whose composition turned into a trio, let Ira go on a good journey, having no complaints about her. In their few interviews, the remaining vocalists even admitted that they were more comfortable performing as a trio. Igor Matvienko also said goodbye to the ward without conflicts. During this period, he was busy producing the first "Factory", so there was not enough time for his own projects.

In 2003, the first and last album of the group “Girls” was released with the playful title “Don’t Do Juju”, most of the compositions were recorded with Ira Dubtsova. The girls continued to work together, but they realized that the team was behind the competition. As participants in the project admitted, it was hard for them to compete with Via Groi and Strelka. Therefore, speaking at the “Muz-TV” Prize with one of their best compositions “Islet”, the girls decided to leave and each go their own way.
Former band members today
Each of the soloists of the “Girls” group is talented, which is why everyone found their vocation in one or another niche of the showbiz. By the way, the composition of the group "Girls" is old, consisting of four people, gathered again on the anniversary of its producer.
Valya Rubtsova graduated from GITIS and began acting in comedy series and television shows, as well as participating in theatrical productions. Lipa Teterich is a secular lioness and a successful presenter on MUZ-TV, and Tanya Gerasimova found herself in the media, for some time she hosted the Army Store broadcast.
The real stellar fate went to Irina Dubtsova: after leaving the team in 2004, she took part in Igor Krutoy's Factory 4 and won this show. Now Irina has a crowd of fans, not only among ordinary viewers, but also in the circles of colleagues in the shop. She proved herself to be a talented author-performer, and without protest, she deservedly received the first prize.
