The drug "Diflucan": instructions for use

Often women face such a problem as vaginal candidiasis: in everyday life it is simply called "thrush." And other fungal diseases are not a very pleasant thing. Currently, there are a large number of drugs that help fight these diseases. Because of its relative safety and effectiveness, Diflucan is popular, the instructions for use of which are very important for the proper use of the drug.

This medicine is recommended for the treatment of not only all types of candidiasis, but also deep mycoses, fungal skin lesions, as well as for the prevention of these diseases in patients with cancer and AIDS.

The drug is available in the form of capsules, solution for injection or powder for the preparation of a suspension. The main active ingredient is flucanazole. The regimen, dose and duration of treatment depend on the nature of the disease, its severity and other individual characteristics. Before taking Diflucan, you should consult your doctor. In some cases, for example, with thrush, a single capsule is often enough. For other, more serious diseases, you may need long-term treatment and subsequent rehabilitation therapy.

In order to use "Diflucan" in the disease , the instructions for use should be carefully studied, since there are a small number of contraindications. These include pregnancy and lactation, its simultaneous administration with some other drugs (for example, astemizole, cisapride and others), high sensitivity to the components contained in it. Moreover, "Diflucan" can be used even for newborns. The drug underwent a large number of studies, and not one of them revealed serious consequences, basically it was very well tolerated.

If it is necessary to cure vulvovaginal candidiasis, then most often it is enough to take one capsule, after which all unpleasant symptoms decrease and gradually disappear. In case of chronic thrush, it is worthwhile to consult a doctor about possible therapy, but if you use Diflucan, the instructions for use recommend that you drink the drug once a month, one capsule for six months.

For the treatment of pityriasis versicolor, the drug is used 2 times at 300 mg (2 capsules of 150 mg) with a break of a week. In case of fungal infections of the skin, "Diflucan" is recommended to drink according to the scheme of 50 mg per day, while the treatment lasts, as a rule, 2-4 weeks. In the event that the feet are infected, a longer course is possible - up to 6 weeks.

The drug "Diflucan" also recommends the use of instructions for older people, however, they should not have symptoms of kidney failure. During the admission, it is necessary to consult a doctor and periodically take tests, if the levels of transaminases change, it is better to cancel the course of treatment or replace the medicine. For children, the drug is prescribed in doses that take into account their weight and form of the disease, but in any case, exceeding the daily norm is unacceptable.

The absorption of the drug "Diflucan suspension" is much higher, the instruction for which differs from that for the drug in capsules. The dosage, as well as the method of using the drug, is different. Indications for treatment in this case will be similar.

In case of an overdose, gastric lavage and forced diuresis are effective. Hallucinations, delayed psycho-motor reactions may appear.

This medicine may have side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, allergic reactions, and swelling. In such cases, its subsequent use must necessarily be agreed with the doctor.
