The appearance of a new style of evening dress, fur coat or stylish T-shirt must be preceded by a sketch of this thing. It is this stage that allows you to realize the idea that has arisen, it will also serve as a guide for its transformation into a real wardrobe item. It should be clarified right away - the process of combining the ideal with the material sometimes causes certain difficulties. Before drawing sketches of clothes, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with the algorithm for their creation. To begin with, you should take care of the material base for your creativity - prepare paper, eraser, pencil, paints and brushes.
How to learn to draw clothes
The first thing a beginner fashion designer needs is an idea. It can arise by itself as a result of contemplation of any beautiful objects of animate or
inanimate nature, the lines or prints of which you would like to repeat in a suit. But in most cases, before drawing clothes, it will take some time to accumulate impressions and knowledge, to systematize them. Ultimately, focused work on the history of the costume, the study of fashion magazines and the latest collections of popular designers will become the basis for the design of the costume. It doesnβt hurt to take a closer look at how others dress up.

It is at that moment when the accumulated emotions will awaken real inspiration, and knowledge will be needed on how to draw clothes. In order not to miss a precious idea, you should not immediately detail the sketch. It will be enough to draw the outline of the product and its large parts, while specifying the shape of the most significant elements for the model. You can also record associations that gave impetus to the emergence of a new image. Before drawing clothes, you should clearly imagine its function and the approximate circle of persons for which it will be designed.
Then you can proceed to clarify all the details of the new costume, first - larger and more significant. It should be borne in mind that the cut of the product should be acceptable to potential consumers. Work at this stage should be done only with a pencil, it will be more convenient to modify the lines and make corrections. The sketch should also draw a view of the back and side of the product.
An interesting point will be the development of the smallest details, with which you can give the costume an individuality. Still, before drawing clothes, determine the appropriate type of fabric. Next, you can start painting the sketch. For products from denser fabrics, it is better to use gouache, watercolor paints will help convey the lightness of silk and chiffon.
The final version of the sketch should be conditionally divided into three zones: drawing the product in full view, in profile and from the back. A person serving as a model can be represented schematically in the form of a mannequin. In the event that makeup and hairstyle are important for creating the image, they should also be carefully thought out and displayed in detail on the sketch. For the successful promotion of a new product, accessories, shoes, and jewelry designed or matched to the style may be important. Samples of recommended fabrics are usually attached to the sketch, they make postscript about the features of the cut. The most complex parts of the costume are detailed in close-up.
