About the actress
Vera Altai was born for the movie. As for the roles, she preferred not the beauties who could shine from the TV screens, but the villains, and she did not lose. Such characters are much more difficult to play, but also more interesting. The press then wrote that the actress was scandalous, that her colleagues did not like her for wit, and the directors were completely afraid. Faith was adopted by fairy tale films in which she starred until the last years of her life, playing her best roles. Now there are no such tales, so Soviet children will always remember her, and the future generation will be happy to watch a film with her magnificent, unforgettable game.
Finally ...
Altai died from a serious illness that tormented her for a long time. Unfortunately, she, like many other actors of the Soviet era, was deprived of her ranks and regalia. But in our memory she will always remain “not a princess, but a royal one!”
