The legendary musical group SMASH was formed in 2002 and quickly gained popularity among teenagers throughout Russia. The Smesh group, which included young and attractive Sergey Lazarev and Vlad Topalov, recorded three albums and released 6 music videos. The duet of Lazarev and Topalov worked in the European format. The Smesh group preferred to perform compositions in English. The desire to reach the world level was traced in the work of the team. So, in a short time the group managed to win many awards, among which were the “Muz-TV Award”, “New Wave”, “Golden Gramophone”, etc.
At the time of the creation of the duet, Lazarev and Topalov were not even 20 years old, but despite their young age, the musicians at that time had extensive experience working on stage. From early childhood, the boys studied in the team "Fidgets", which included traveled around the world and received training. Since nine years old, Sergei and Wad were friends, so the creation of a joint project did not surprise the acquaintances. The Smesh group captivated the audience not only with the pretty appearance of the soloists, but also with their talents. The guys recorded the first clip for the song Should Have Loved You More. And the most popular song of the Smesh band, Belle, was recorded specially for Vlad’s father’s birthday. This single quickly became one of the most popular on radio and television. Group “Smesh” “Belle” performed at its solo concerts and represented at the awards.
At the contest of young performers “New Wave”, where young singers from all over the world come, the group took first place. Cute young people charmed the audience and seemed promising to the jury. The song "Belle", which brought popularity to the duo, became a landmark in their career. The clip was filmed by director Fedor Bondarchuk. Young and ambitious Vlad and Sergey successfully combined their musical career with studies and theater. Despite the success and fame in 2004, the guys announced the collapse of the team. According to official information, the Smesh group fulfilled its contractual obligations and recorded three music records. Young people did not want to talk about further possible cooperation. Topalov and Lazarev chose a solo career for themselves, which turned out to be no less successful. Now the guys are developing in creative activity, recording new songs and traveling around the world.
In 2011, a momentous event took place - the 10th anniversary of the Smash band. For one evening, the guys gathered together again, performed hits of the early 2000s. The Smesh group has launched the career development of these two young people, they owe a lot to the team, but still do not want to talk about the reasons for the gap and conflicts.
In the team, the young men managed not only to become famous throughout the country and earn sufficient fees, but also to gain work experience both on the Russian and foreign stages. After 10 years, representatives of show business and fans of Lazarev and Topalov still remember the group with nostalgia. The songs Talk to me, Belle and Prayer are still remembered by heart by the girls who grew up on the songs of the group. Perhaps in decades we will see Vlad and Sergey at the Retro FM concert and recall the hits under which they performed their first slow dances.
