Red moles can appear in a person at any age, but most often they occur in children and adolescents. In medicine, these neoplasms are called angiomas. They are benign tumors that develop from lymphatic or blood vessels.
Why do red moles appear on the human body? The reason so far has not been established. It is only known that they can be located in different layers of our skin, and their appearance mainly depends on this.
Capillary red moles - what is it?
Most common are capillary angiomas. They are a neoplasm slightly rising above the skin, which is surrounded by small vessels usually visible to the naked eye. Outwardly, it resembles a spider web. Therefore, these moles are called: arachnids, or stellate, angiomas. In the absence of visible capillaries, they are characterized as point ones.
Most often, angiomas are located on the face and body. It is noted that similar formations occur in people with impaired pancreatic or liver functions, during pregnancy and with increased production of the hormone estrogen.
Cavernous hemangioma
If on the body are located densely filled with blood cavities - large red moles - what is it? Such a neoplasm is called cavernous hemangioma, or cavernous. It has a bluish or purple hue, and with a deep arrangement it can be skin color.
Such formations are found much less frequently than capillary formations and, as a rule, are a single formation. If several similar angiomas are found on the body, then often this is a signal that there are tumors in the internal organs.
Other varieties of angiomas
In addition to the above, there are flat, pineal, nodular, branched types of these tumors, as well as a disease called hemangiomatosis. It is characterized by a large area of โโthe affected area along the bloodstream, for example, the entire length of the arm or leg.
By the way, all these neoplasms have a common symptom. And if you have a red mole, check it: a typical angioma will turn pale when pressed, but if you release your finger, it will regain its color.
Are red moles dangerous?
What this disease can mean for a person is not known for certain. Doctors prefer to attribute such moles to safe neoplasms. Obviously, because angiomas disappear on their own and, as a rule, do not cause much discomfort.
But still, it is worth observing the birthmark that has appeared, and if itching, irritation, pain, or a noticeable growth of the neoplasm appear, you should consult a specialist.
Do I need to remove red moles?
That this disease is dangerous, only doctors can judge. Therefore, it is better not to touch the angioma ourselves, but to contact a specialist.
If the mole has increased or spoils the appearance, then various methods of removing red moles are at the patient's service. This is vascular coagulation , cryogenic or laser surgery, sclerosis of the vascular bed, etc. Sometimes hormonal drugs can also be prescribed for treatment.
