There is one disease that periodically affects approximately 50% of the population. This is gastritis. As a rule, the disease is acute or chronic. Chronic gastritis has a large number of varieties. It can be with a parallel lesion of the glands, atrophic, erosive and superficial.
Superficial gastritis can be classified as inflammation of the inner gastric surface, which is characterized by some dystrophic changes in the epithelium of the upper layer, and also has pronounced endoscopic symptoms. Superficial gastritis is characterized mainly by damage to the upper layer of the mucosa without damage to the inner layers. That is why this disease is considered the initial or mild form of gastritis.
Superficial gastritis is a disease that is quite common, and its occurrence does not depend on age at all. According to the severity of the disease, it can be weak, moderate and pronounced. The severity is determined by the level of vulnerability of the mucosa, by its swelling and by the location of the foci of inflammation. Superficial gastritis symptoms are similar to other types of this disease. This is nausea, sometimes reaching vomiting, heartburn, pain in the upper abdomen, a rather unpleasant aftertaste may appear in the mouth, and there are all kinds of digestive upsets.
Diagnosis of the disease begins with an X-ray examination, in which the degree of change in the gastric mucosa is determined, and the likelihood of peptic ulcer and cancer is excluded. A more accurate diagnosis is made by gastroscopy.
Superficial gastritis, the treatment of which should be carried out at the initial stage, quickly leads to recovery. And when the conditions for early diagnosis are met, as a rule, it does not have any irreversible consequences. In order for the disease to go most smoothly, you need to establish its main factor. During treatment, the patient is usually prescribed medications that have an enveloping property, soothing the gastric mucosa and contributing to its rapid recovery. And also, some sedatives are often prescribed that normalize and soothe the nervous system.
The treatment of a disease such as superficial gastritis is aimed completely at suppressing and eliminating some pathogenic factors, as well as at preventing possible relapses of the disease. Before starting treatment, it is recommended to make a certain cleaning of the intestines, using enemas. If the disease proceeds in an acute form, then it is necessary to limit food intake to the maximum. The mucous membrane will heal much faster if a few days a person will be limited only to drinking. It is recommended to drink different herbal teas and mineral waters. After a certain time, it will be possible to gradually add food in the form of a sparing diet. In the prepared dishes all traumatic factors must be completely excluded: it is impossible to spicy, dry, salty and spicy, fatty, fried, as well as sour and alcohol in any form. With gastritis of any form, smoking is categorically contraindicated.
In addition to following a diet, the patient should also have a calm routine of life and, preferably, the regimen of the day, nervous overloads should be avoided. Take food at a strictly defined time and in small portions. Overeating must be avoided, and motor activity is recommended in order to maintain the motor function of the stomach. Many folk remedies are also useful, recipes of which in large numbers can be found in medical journals and the Internet.
